This is a deck that I have tried out recently. It isn't that consistent as I often can't get all my Pokemon and energy fast enough. In terms of damage, it doesn't really struggle much as the two attackers, Donphan and Whiscash have high potential. Please let me know what you think on how to make it better. Thank you!

Hey, I just imported the deck and have some suggestions:

Are you eager to play Whiscash? Otherwise I would replace its line by some Spiritombs (the Anguish Cry ones) and an additional Jynx. Evolving and attaching two energies to have a worse version of Donphan's attack doesn't really seem worth it.

Especially with Spiritomb I'd put in 4x Cape of Toughness.

Also I think using Memory Capsule with Donphan is a bit too janky if you have Spiritomb, otherwise it's probably your best bet for Knock-Out potential.

I'd put in some Stone F Energies as they only block damage from your opponent's attacks so you still build up damage counters while being harder to knock out, also you would need a way to provide Dark energy for Spiritomb. 4x Rainbow Energy should do the trick as it also puts some damage on your Pokemon. Oops, RE isn't in Standard. If you need even more flexibility, Aurora Energy is also an option since you often discard your hand with Research anyways.

I don't really like Skyla and Sonia in this Deck, I'd recommend putting in some Rosas instead as your Pokemon will probably get knocked out relatively often. Also go 4 - 4 with Research and Marnie as you need the card draw without Crobat and Dedenne. Together with Lucky Egg those should do the trick.

You could splash in a Galarian Sirfetch'd to deal 200dmg at once in a clutch situation.

Last but not least, I'd put in 1 or 2 Chaotic Swells just so you have a counter for decks reliant on Stadiums.

That's what I can think of at the top of my head.

In Expanded you would have less problems drawing cards with Dedenne + Jynx + Acerola but so do your matchups.😅

I have my game set to German but your game should recognize the cards

Edit: Now that I think about it, maybe adding one or two Memory Capsules makes sense to one-shot Eternatus-VMAX off a Rosa when Sirfetch'd is prized/ discarded or not enough energy on board.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok, thank you! My main worry about Spiritomb is that it will rotate out of standard soon, but I guess I might try it out later. Thanks for the help! Here is my new, albeit more consistent version of the deck. I removed Whiscash and Jynx, added in the Cinncino line, Stone Energy, Bosses Order and Great Catcher. There were also some other changes too. This deck shines against Eternatus V-Max and Pikachu and Zekrom GX. Hope this helps!
