Empoleon is a great attacker.

Amibipom, Golduck, and Kyogre as solid attackers in their own right.

The deck has a solid assortment of Trainers.

Your mileage may vary, but how large is your sample size?  PTCGO on-demand tournaments aren't the best indicators for deck quality, given how they are structured.  They still off some useful data, but one needs a large enough sample size.  Three isn't likely to cut it.  Now, if it was three tournament on top of a few dozen matches on the Reward Ladder, okay.  Still not conclusive, but much more persuasive.

I understand what you mean and agree. But still I think it's harder to manage and less worthy than relentless flams, soaring storms etc.

Is there a place where you can see all the battles you have done and against what decks? The only deck that seems to be beating me the most is new Charizard deck but I don't know what the ratio is, more or less than 0.5. I don't want to have spreadsheet each battle to do proper analytics. I would imagine that PTCO would keep this data for you.

No.

You must do your own statistics if you want to know.

Hello - I am new as well, been playing a few weeks. I tried to play the Blastoise deck because there were so many people playing the Charizard deck. But it was just too slow for setup most of the time. I was still losing a majority of the time to the Chaqrizard deck. I've been playing the Ralliaboom deck and even though it is leaf it was still more consistent against the Charizard deck by playing Snoreolax when I am going against Charizard decks.

Well, indeed Blastoise need some cards to get well, but you got a lot of possibilities. First, Farfetch to pickup 2 cars, pidgotto with it's skill, a lot of trainer cards, and when you get blastoise, you can use his ability to suck all energy from deck :) Golduck with amnesia works pretty well to slow opponent, and swim is good attack, even for finishing over pokemnons on the bench.

Here's the short version for why it is an underwhelming deck.  Not bad, but not good, either.

  • Farfetch'd is a very good opener.  However, it is the only good opener.
  • Pidgeotto's Ability is makes it a great Bench-sitter, but its low HP can still be a problem.
  • Golduck is a specialist.  Swim is bad unless you're facing another deck running at least partially on [W] Energy.  Amnesia requires your opponent can't evolve, doesn't have another worthwhile attack it can afford, cannot switch out, etc.
  • Blastoise should be your Bench-sitter, but it is your only good attacker when it comes to dealing out damage.  But its attack self-damages, and with an amount that often shortens its life by a turn.  Its Energy acceleration is good, but not as good as it should be given the lack of other good attackers.  Also, it can whiff, but you won't know that's going to happen until you use it.
