Talonflame V and Hero's Bath Revealed from Shocking Volt Tackle

Recommended Posts

Talonflame V – Fire – HP190
Basic Pokemon

[C] Fast Flight: If you go first, you can use this attack on your first turn. Discard your hand and draw 6 cards.

[R][R][C] Crimson Wings: 160 damage. Discard an Energy from this Pokemon.

When your Pokemon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-30)
Retreat: 0

Hero’s Bath – Trainer

Each Basic Pokemon in play takes 20 less damage from their opponent’s attacks.

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

Talonflame seems like it might be ok as a one-off in fire decks. So, Hero's Bath plus Lucario Melmetal GX Attack plus Zamazenta Sturdy Steel Ability plus Metal Goggles means that specific Zamazenta will take minimum 80 less damage from attacks. Of course, your opponent's basics will take 20 less, but your opponent will have difficulty taking down your Zamazenta.

Hero's Bath is honestly just more Zacian V support. There are other cards that benefit, but Zacian is reaping the rewards. Between this, Cape of Toughness, and Full Metal Wall GX, Zacian V can have effectively 320 HP, as much HP as a VMAX Pokemon!!! That is not alright, especially considering that it hits harder than almost everything else out there.

Talonflame can be cool, and it may be viable in decks because it has a Retreat Cost of 0. However, it feels out-shined by Zacian V's Intrepid Sword.
