On August 27, 2020 the Pokémon TCG Online game server was updated with the following changes:

  • The 2021 Standard format rotation has been applied. Expansions released prior to Sun & Moon—Team Up and Sun & Moon series Black Star Promos numbered SM157 and lower are no longer legal in the Standard format.
  • Mismagius (UNB #78) and Bellelba & Brycen-Man (CEC #186) are now banned in the Standard format, as previously announced in this article.
  • Dust Island (UNB #168): The Poisoned Special Condition is now appropriately transferred to a Pokémon that is switched to the Active Spot with the effect of a Trainer Card.
  • Eternatus VMAX (DAA #117, 192): When an Eternatus VMAX in the Active Spot leaves play while its owner has 6 or more Benched Pokémon, that player now promotes a new Active Pokémon after discarding down to 5 Benched Pokémon, rather than before.
  • Latias (UNM #153): Energy Arrow now does the intended amount of damage to a Pokémon with Twin Energy (RCL #174, 209) attached that isn't a Pokémon V or Pokémon-GX.
  • Lillie's Poké Doll (CEC #197, 267): The attacking player is now prevented from taking a Prize card for Lillie's Poké Doll if it is in the Active Spot and is Knocked Out by damage from an attack that also Knocks Out one of the defending player's Benched Pokémon.
  • Metal Frying Pan (FLI #112, 144): The effect now consistently affects Pokémon that are {M} Pokémon due to the effect of an Ability.
  • Poipole (FLI #55, 55a): The attacking player is now prevented from taking a Prize card for Poipole affected by Knockout Reviver if it is in the Active Spot and is Knocked Out by damage from an attack that also Knocks Out one of the defending player's Benched Pokémon.
  • Robo Substitute (PHF #102): The attacking player is now prevented from taking a Prize card for Robo Substitute if it is in the Active Spot and is Knocked Out by damage from an attack that also Knocks Out one of the defending player's Benched Pokémon.
  • Shedinja (DRX #48): The attacking player is now prevented from taking a Prize card for Shedinja if it is in the Active Spot and is Knocked Out by damage from an attack that also Knocks Out one of the defending player's Benched Pokémon.
  • The Galarian Darmanitan theme deck now contains 2 copies each of Capacious Bucket (RCL #156) and Sonia (RCL #167) instead of 2 copies each of Air Balloon (SSH #156) and Lucky Egg (SSH #167).
