New info was revealed in a trailer today. A summary of the info:

  • Mints: New items that change the growth of stats to the chosen nature. For example, using a Modest Mint changes the growth to plus Special Attack and minus Attack. Note that this won't actually change the nature itself.
  • Exp. Candies: New items that give a Pokemon experience. How much they give depends on which size candy is used (XS, S, M, L, and XL were shown).
  • The limit for how many of a particular vitamin (such as Protein and Calcium) can be used on a Pokemon has been removed (in previous games, it was limited to 10 of each vitamin). You can now max out a stat using vitamins alone.
  • Putting in 2 of the same species in a Pokemon Nursery (i.e. the Day Care) will let you pass on egg moves that one of them knows to the other. To pass on egg moves, the one you want learning them has to know 3 or less moves.

Additional new info:

  • The first online competition for Sword and Shield has been announced: Galar Beginnings. Sign ups will last from November 15 to December 5 and the competition will take place from December 6  to December 8. It'll use a single battle format with Pokemon automatically set to level 50 for the competition. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to participate.
  • Sword players will be more likely to encounter Gigantamax Drednaw, and Shield players will be more likely to encounter Gigantamax Corviknight, in Max Raid Battles from November 15, 2019 to early January 2020. Players of both games will be more likely to encounter Gigantamax Butterfree during the same period.

someone made a good point about saying Galar dex only being allowed is a bit redundant

like the idea of the mints. the XP candies are ok. while they will be useful for late game when u have greatly exceeded trainer and wild pokemon levels. i feel as they could be cheap and easy way to level for those who are too lazy to grind for the XP

I am very excited for this game! It is nice that there are events available right at launch. I think there are a lot of nice features that we can all look forward to. We're less than a week away!

I feel this is kinda redundant as the only pokemon available in SW/SH are the ones found in the Dex cos you know, "no Nat dex"
