Energy Recycle system takes incredibly long time

Recommended Posts

Teknogrebo

This has been bugging me for a few weeks, but when you use energy recycle system to either put energy to your hand, or to put it back in your deck the game hangs for an incredibly long time (feels like up to 30 seconds or so). The bigger the discard pile, the longer it takes. I've attached a game log for the latest game where this has happened.

Game Log Output Begins Here:

Can confirm, this is happening to me too, both on PC and on iPad. Seems similar (or the same?) as the old Rescue Stretcher bug that would also cause the game to hang when trying to recycle cards back into the deck from discard.

I find it hangs both before opening the discard pile AND it hangs again after selecting the cards to recycle before finally recycling them.

Happens to me constantly on PC and Android...

I usually play it late game and I hate when a 20min game gets ruined by this, oftentimes I just give up and quit the game.

Fix it please...

Thanks for the feedback. I've submitted the bug with a log on the portal. I have to confess that I didn't know that existed until now, so will submit future bugs through there.

This bug happens every time I play the card regardless of which option I choose. The one thing I haven't seen mentioned in any of the reports is that the timer doesn't count down while its stuck, which I would assume means it's a server side issue and not client side

Hello @matt_awesome

I'm sorry to hear you're also experiencing this possible bug. It seems to be an ongoing issue.

Is there any chance you have saved a game log of your match that you can share so we can review it?

[video & log of both card effects] This bug has been around for about a year and affects a widely used card, I hope something gets done about it

It's been almost two months since my first post and it's still happening 😕

Here my game log, although I don't see any time stamps so I don't know what good it will be. [Mod_GuruLot - posting links to non-official Pokemon URL's is against the forum rules.]

Also @matt_awesome's video is a really good example. He played the card at 8:54 and the effect didn't resolve until 10:00. that's over 1 minute of waiting...

Hey @Teknogrebo,

Thank you for reporting this. This issue should be resolved with the latest patch that was applied today.

"Energy Recycle System (CES #128): Resolved an issue that caused a noticeable delay before the chosen cards are shuffled into the deck, which could occasionally cause the match to end immediately."

You can read about this and other resolved issues in this thread - https://forums.pokemontcg.com/topic/73426-267-patch-notes-oct-29-2019/
