Trouble Tagging Gameplay Items For Trade

Recommended Posts

This was reported several weeks ago, but never picked up in the Known Issues list.

If a gameplay item (box, sleeves, coin) is used in a deck, it can't be traded.  But there are several gameplay items that can't be tagged For Trade when you own more than one.  It shouldn't matter if they're in a deck.  This happens if you own a single tradable, AND a single trade-locked item (meaning you own 2 of them).

It seems sporadic which ones work, and which don't, but I can't click the Double Arrows button (For Trade), even though I own two of these items (listed below).  It probably varies with different players, but having two of them (1 locked, 1 tradable) seems to be the common problem.

Deck Boxes

Kanto Collection Deck Box:  Charmander
Kanto Collection Deck Box:  Squirtle

Card Sleeves

Kanto Collection Card Sleeves:  Squirtle
Textured Poke Ball

Coins

Blue Ice Tyranitar Coin
Gold Pikachu Coin
Green Rayquaza Coin
Green Unova Partners Coin
Red Unova Partners Coin
Silver Ovals Genesect Coin

Worth mentioning, is another bug in one of the recent updates.  When looking at someone's collection, in a private trade, both of the checkboxes For Trade, and For Want, are marked by default (in the I Am Giving window).  It didn't used to be this way, and probably shouldn't be.  Yes, the For Trade being checked makes sense.  But also having the For Want doesn't.  Most trades don't involve their For Want list, since the average player doesn't keep this updated.  Please remove the For Want checkmark as a default.

Hello RobRatt,

Thank you for your constructive comment.

I've gone ahead and passed it along to the development team for their review.

Thank you.  Much appreciated.

Any chance you could also tell them that the Refresh Trade List button doesn't "grey out" properly?  When you do a search (in Public Offers), or even once it finds an item, it stays Green.  As such, it's almost impossible to know if the database has fully loaded.  It's just one of those recent glitches that gets to be annoying.

Sure, @RobRatt, I'm adding the Refresh Trade List button and the Public Search glitches to the list and passing this update along to the development team for their review.

Hope this helps!

Again, thank you very much.  It's a small matter, I know, but it still feels good to know that someone will be aware.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am having trouble with this same bug.  I traded for the druddigon gameplay set a few days ago, traded is back in the public trade (no problems), and then this morning traded for the same exact set in a private trade.  My newest set is not tradable.  I get a "Tag for Trade Error   You do not have enough items of that type available for trade" message.  Please help.  This set is very valuable at the moment and I would like to have the option of trading it.

Thank you!

Nevermind, problem solved (atleast for me)!  I was using the gameplays on a deck.  For some reason the trade button doesn't work when the gameplays are in use.  Make sure you have them unselected on your decks.  How this helps! :D

^^  Yes, having them in a deck was mentioned in the first paragraph of the original post (above).

This bug is still a valid problem that needs to be fixed (when you have at least 2 of any gameplay item).

^^  AND, it still hasn't made it to the Known Issues list.  But then again, nothing has since June 25th.

Maybe they'll surprise us with the next update?  Or are they on a beautiful beach somewhere?

Hey @RobRatt,

I did some research into this by searching "Tropical" on public trades. It does take a while for the trades to load and trickle in but after a while the refresh button will turn green again. Searching "Tropical" only displayed about ~30 results and took maybe 20 seconds to load. With other search terms, I could see how it could take a while to load all the results.

Thank you for making the effort, and for responding.  It's a minor problem, for sure.  But here's what I've been seeing (specifically, on the Windows app)...

If you go to the Public Offers tab, the first time for the day, and for example, use the filters >Cards >I Am Getting >For Want, it starts to load the database.  The "Refresh Button" stays green, so when you scroll to the bottom, it continues to load bit by bit.  Scroll, ...load a few, ...scroll, ...load a few more.

NOTE:  I've always wished there was a "Download All" feature for the trading database.  This might be a good solution.

If you then type "Tropical" (say you're looking for Beaches), the Refresh Button is still green.  This means you don't know if the database is loaded or not, until you start seeing trades at the 47+ hours mark.  It's harder when you have a very narrow search, because when there are only 3 items, you sit there wondering, "Okay, is it done yet?  Is this it?"  Those extra moments (waiting) can add up if you search a lot daily.

If you actually hit the Refresh Button, after you've typed your search parameter, it will then turn gray (finally turning green when complete).  But there's a problem even with this.  About 1 out of 4 times, it only turns gray until it finds the first item.  When it's green, not knowing whether it's complete or not, you might still have to scroll bit by bit until you hit the bottom.
