Trainer Challenges and Versus Rewards are Almost Obsolete!

I just started playing Pokemon TGC Online, and I'm having a lot of fun. I read that a lot of decks are about to rotate out of standard, though. ALL of the booster packs I've unlocked from the trainer challenges have been from sets that are about to rotate out. On top of that, the top Versus Reward is Buzzwole GX which is part of the Crimson Invasion expansion which is also rotating out in just 3 weeks. Should I stop playing now?!? Should I wait till the new meta starts before I play again? This is very upsetting.

I cannot say for certain.  Remember that stuff which rotates out of the Standard Format is usually still legal for Expanded play.  That may be cold comfort, if building an Expanded Format deck seems like too much of a bother, of course.

I just know from other trading card games that playing with standard decks is usually a little cheaper for someone just starting out to be competitive in. So I thought other rewards would be more useful. It looks like I just started about a month too early. Oh well. I might be able to make something fun with buzzwole gx. 

 

Anyone with itch a bit of experience know what happens with these rewards once the rotation happens? Do they reset to new rewards, or are they set in stone the moment I open my account? I may slow my climb if they reset to more current expansions.

The Versus reward ladder resets every 3 weeks, you can see the time left on the versus screen. When it does, it will be something else. The next one might be Expanded cards, and they are the same for everyone.

 

The Trainer Challenge rewards are for the set that the deck was released with, so they will mostly be older. I'm not certain where any random prizes are drawn from, but they are not locked to the date you started playing.

That's not true for the rewards you get for beating every trainer with 4 stars of when you complete a league. That is only true for the theme decks you buy from shop and do 12 matches with..

As far as I'm concerned, I play in theme deck untill the rotation.

I have been sparing 3000 gold so far for 2 theme decks and 10 boosters

 

I own a few S&M tradable boosters. I don't know if I should open them or exchange them, at once, though... 😕

If random prizes means the random packs. They are chosen from the current standard set. As per my experience, 5 years back, I used to get a standard pack for beating all the 36 trainers and 9 for completing all the three leagues. So as per my observation, and some others, the random packs are drawn from standard pool.

If this is meant for me ? Then you have assumed stuff wrong. Now you got 2 choices -

 

1) Hold a grudge against me and whine like a kid for someone else downvoting your posts (by the way which nobody cares about - except for 5 year olds who judge others by reputation perhaps ? )

Or

2) Just move on, because well who cares about reputation anyway.

 

I have been on this forums since a long time ago, much before you know it existed. I have never done something of this kind and will never do. Besides, I don't have time for these things either.

 

Edit - this will be my last post, just to clarify. If you go on, don't expect me to come in and reply for your ignorance or childish behavior..
