Event Tickets Tradeable

I would love for TPC to allow us to trade our event tickets for in game currency or with other players who would better use them. I am currently in an event and waiting for the last round to start but each time I play I get very nervous and anxious and would rather just trade my tickets to people. I'm sure there are many players who don't do events due to feeling self conscious or because they dont like feeling under pressure while in game therefore letting their tickets build up. I currently have close to 400 tickets and I dont think I'd even do enough events to burn through half by the end of this year.

This may have been brought up a 100 times before but just in case y'all need a bit more persuasion this is my reasoning. Just please don't be cheap with the conversion if its in game currency. I dont want to give one ticket for one coin lol.

Well when you play in events you are only guaranteed to get 50 Trainer Tokens and 1 Uncommon Chest. I also have a feeling that people would request packs for your tickets. And if you fail with those tickets, it would be frustrating. Especially if you were put up against a strong opponent in the tournament that you participated in. Also, people with a lot of cards and packs to trade would be able to get hundreds of these tickets through trades. Then getting packs and tokens would be no problem for them. The game like in the real life TCG is supposed to be more of a grinding game. Nothing comes easy. In the game everything come through being a good player. In real life everything comes through mostly money.

Some people don't have good decks and would NOT want to trade for them. I don't see it as a terrible option but I don't think that it would be a popular one.

Well I dont know how good of a player I am but I did come in second and I'm usually in the top 4 but my nerves get to me a lot when I game in any type of game honestly lol. But like I said I rarely do events because It simply doesn't interest me. I just think with a proper trading system for tickets alone it'd be win/win for everyone. :)

Hey !  Great idea !

I also have a lot of tickets, and no time to use them, since I play when I take a break.

That would be cool ! 😊

I don't think they would ever consider including such a feature but the idea sounds ******** keep it fair they would have to have it as set prices for trading instead of open trade for any content and keep it coin based so people don't ***** the system.

This would honestly not be a bad idea. I don't find completing the ladder particularly enjoyable anymore (which is one of the reasons I haven't played at all since around February), but if I could suddenly get my hands on 400 tickets I would definitely come back to play events. If it were possible, you could expect a ratio of about 1 pack for 4 tickets (give or take a few tickets), since the person you're trading with would break even by clearing the 1st round and turn a profit for each round won after that.

True; you're effectively gambling with your tradable packs, and losing a gamble is always a bit frustrating. But that's how the deal is with gambling in general, you have to accept from the get-go that you could lose.

Not like I really expect this to be made possible (as is it with pretty much everything else we suggest), but it's an interesting idea to put out there at least. If tickets that are currently just sitting there catching dust were to be put on the hands of people who actually want them then Events could see an increase in activity, while those who don't want them would still be getting a few free (tradable) packs.

@Sakura150612Geez are you made of money (packs) or am I just stupid? FOUR TICKETS for ONE pack? My god that's a steal I was already thinking 8 tickets for one current gen (S&M +) pack or 10 for 2 older gen (XY -) packs seeing as it costs 8 to join an event but we could go with yours 😇.

And who knows they did add some small barely noticeable new animations that no one has really seemed to have mentioned. And if I recall that Anexpor guy was kind of spamming for it so maybe he was on to something or its just coincidence they added one or two new animations.

@SaucyMouse  WHAT?! Why are you cursing at me?! I'm jk anyway set prices sounds fair if its trading in the in-game shop but if we wanted to trade with friends or other users then I think setting our own prices would be a nice incentive to even consider trading away these wonka tickets.

This sounds like a situation for...  (ba du ba) Math!! :)

There are (6 + 4 + 2 + 2) 14 packs given in each tournament; plus four uncommon chests and the slight possibility of something tradable from the victory wheel.  64 tickets are put in, so if we say each chest is conveniently 1/4 a pack, and if the current avg. value of standard packs is about .67 (obviously excluding special sets), then each ticket generates (14*0.67)/64=0.147 packs.  That means a pack is worth approx. 7 tickets.

That would likely be about the going rate, even though Expanded events would get less revenue (14*0.47/64=0.10) and Legacy more if they brought it back (please? :(), probably around 14*2/64=0.44 .  Of course, as the value of special and expanded sets change, the going rate is bound to fluctuate as well, even though it seems like it should be a perfectly constant number.

Well, a lot would depend on what pack is been given and how much each individual player thinks that they can get out of tickets. People who consistently reach the final round might be willing to pay a little more. When I do play tournaments it's mostly just when a new expansion is released, so I get a ton of value out of my tickets with the new packs.

Haha you're such a dork. I guess that sounds fair about setting your own prices  with friends I just don't know how it would work via public trade and how it'd affect the trade system in general. To be honest it sounds like it might be complicated.

I actually find price Sakura suggested quite reasonable. Given that player is sure they can win one round in theme tournament and are having quite good chance to win second round, there should be no reason to not pay the one pack. In standard and expanded the situation is still the same, only this time you risk 2 packs, win them back if you win one round and get 2 for each win after that. Given that player can keep up this succes they could potentially produce packs faster than they could in the current trade market.

I like the suggestion really much due to it offering value for each party:Inexperienced players get sure packs by their tickets via trading instead of risking them, players who wouldn't take part in tournament anyway and have hundreds if not thousands of tickets laying around  get value for their tickets and players who are really into tournament playstyle get to participate more often.

Certainly though competition in tournaments that are filled with players who assume "I will make profit from this" will get fiercer but I don't think that is necessarily bad thing. Thumbs up for this suggestion!

Totally agree and not just because I'd get more packs for less tickets but maybe yes that's the reason. Okay it's definitely the reason.  😆

Good points all.  That quick calc didn't consider that demand is likely coming from people expecting 1st/2nd or that some people would likely stock up until a new set releases.  I think the market of the masses will still be the most powerful factor, but we probs wouldn't see nearly seven tickets to a pack.  Five would be my guess.
