Gem promos for trade

Greeting, trainers!

 

As the title suggests I have some spare gem promos from old times. I have been away from the game for a few years, which means I am also missing all the new ones, plus a few of the older ones as well. I also have a Gastly, which will sadly need to be a downgrade for me as I have no interest in Shiftry. (With which Gastly has now caught up in price, partly because it is harder to get.)

 

I am also looking for the newer boxes and sleeves. I have spares of the old sets, like Druddigon and others. Sorry, no spare Milotic set.

 

I do have some beaches for trade as well, in case anyone is interested.

I do not check here very often, feel free to send offers in the game, my player name is either Rolci or Rolcsi, I'm always confused about which is which or why there are two names. I'm guessing one is for the game while the other for the forums?

 

Just to be clear, I have checked the forums for gem prices (I know they're all arbitrary with no set values), I have also consulted Micromaster and others in the game for an overall idea of relative prices and I also keep an eye on pub trades so I know that for example Gastly is being fiercely hunted for with offers in the 500+ region, going up about 50 every week as no one seems to want to trade it. I was offering it for 320 just 3 weeks ago and again for 420 last week but the players found it too expensive. Now I would think twice selling it for 500 as I see higher and higher offers every day.

 

Sensible offers please, I am happy to offer Gastly at a more mundane price in a larger trade, especially if I am able to trade in my other stuff with it.

Thanks to everybody for all the trades so far. I am down to my last playset of Gastlies, which means that I will be valuing the remaining ones at 750. (The last one sold between 650-700).

 

Also I have one Vivillon left for trade, which I will trade for 650 based on recent trades.

 

One playset of both Beaches left still, values stand between 300-350 at the moment.

No way!!  From this estimate on Tropical Beaches alone, which is a solid commodity, these prices are wackadoo.  It's not that I don't wish @OP good luck selling his wares -- I do -- but not at the expense of shafting new players with unreasonable prices.  Beware when those who have them tell you what they're worth.

Yes, though on the other hand new players rarely sit on 300-350 packs and are trying to trade beaches or gem promos and if they do, I'm positive they are quite aware of values. But have to agree: always check prices with own eyes and take everything said with grain of salt.

Thank you for the input Rob. I do not claim to be an authority on prices, I have been away from this game for years and only came back a few weeks ago. Last time I played beaches were 32 packs each, you could get 6 of them for a SRUB. I realise things are a LOT different now. I gather my values from observing public trades mostly, and to a less extent from traders within the game and this forum. Other than that I have my own experience seeing how much I have been selling mine for, which is no "law" as not everybody will pay high prices just because a few did - I get that. I have seen offers in excess of 300 for beaches in public trades - with no takers! I watched these trades expire without taking them myself, simply because I know that these cards go up in price week by week. I would have taken the offers, but not for "common" cards that I could just pull from packs.

 

Sniperi is right, there are two kinds of people that buy these cards, and they're not new players sitting on thousands of packs. One is people who want them for themselves, decks or collection, who will not sell them on, reducing the number of available beaches on offer available to the public. Second, those that want to re-sell them at a profit. Which further reduces the number available at lower prices and pushes prices further up.

 

Needless to say beaches and gem promos are not getting any cheaper any time soon. I personally am here for collection purposes only. Once I have one of everything I'm happy and put the game to rest for another few years. I am mostly working to finish my Sun & Moon collection, I have most of the commons and some of the uncommons and almost none of the rares. While I'm doing that I am also trading gem promos.

 

I do not dictate prices and I am not aware of an authority that does. (If you are please let me know.) But no one in their right mind would give a beach for 250. Which is funny, just 1 month ago people were offering them in pub for 170. I do not see how anyone should not have the right to ask for whatever price. You know, wait another month and when people see a beach in pub for 350 it will be gone in seconds. I am not sure where you get your prices from or when you checked last time, like I said, they go up day by day. I am offering mine now because I don't want to spend months here playing Pokemon. If they go they go, if not I might come back in another 3 years' time. What will be then is anyone's guess. Mine is, beaches will be either in the thousands, or a couple packs each because of some new game feature like a wheel promo thing or a re-print or a ban. Which I doubt they will do, that would be a tremendous dishonouring of those that worked really hard to earn these special cards back then at Worlds. I suggest anyone that wants them should get them while they're under 500. No when they're over.

My bad, wrong estimate for beaches indeed. I see a trade in pub right now offering 650+ for beach 11, 3 of each SR energy and more. You wish you had bought beaches while they were 300. Another 2 months and they'll hit 1000 easy. Anyone care to buy for 700 while they're cheap?  BTW I wouldn't sell my last remaining spare Gastly for a Beach 11. There are lots of beaches in the game, but not many Gastlies. Only trading it for other gem promos or as trade-in for a vivid. But Gastly is climbing to the value of the cheaper vivids themselves slowly.
