Permanent ban for cheaters

Especially for players abusing of broken know issues such as Seismitoad EX supporter lock.

 

What do you think? Sounds reasonable?

I don't know about a permanent ban. If they're going to spend any time at all doing something about this glitch, they should disable Seismitoad-EX ASAP instead.

 

Bug exploiting can be a reason for a permaban, but it depends on the level of damage it causes. I remember there was once a bug that could be used to get infinite tradable packs, and the people who were caught exploiting it got perma'd. Don't know about this bug though. I don't think that the suppport team will consider this severe enough to warrant a permaban.

Yes, if they're going to take an action, banning the abusable card until it is fixed should be it.

 

(I haven't encountered this myself, as I'm sticking to Standard.)

People shouldn't be punished for something that is entirely the developers fault. In fact in some cases the players might not even be aware of the issue at all.

 

As someone who has know idea about coding I'm always amazed how perfectly functioning cards can somehow be infested with bugs. Every new update a new set of seemingly random cards encounters an error. How does that even happen ~~.

Coming from a software developer this is how it can happen. We developers create things called Functions which allows us to re-use code which is used often. That way, if you need to change it you only need to change it it one place rather than a bunch of places. I'm not sure of how Seismitoad EX is bugged since I've never played it but an example is one of it's attacks could be re-using a Function that a bunch of other cards use. The Function might not check that it's Seismitoad EX doing the attack and therefore isn't doing the correct Function which is causing the bug.

 

As for punishing people who exploit the bug, I do believe that should happen but I don't believe it should be permanent.

Regardless though, the amount of new bugs that keep coming up with every update in PTCGO are way above any acceptable level ^^.
