Hello, and welcome to the Forum Norm! Thanks to @offline_play and @WingsofFire1014, we can have a new place for people to meet. This thread will include multiple giveaways, TCG deck articles and the sort, discussions, and way more! 

 

The goal of the Forum Norm is to help new players meet. With so many different aspects in one place, some people who would never see each other could meet! But that isn’t to say veterans can’t participate too!  Having older players interacting with the new will be of much benefit!

 

We are me SKBellmore, WingsOfFire1014, and offline_play. If you have any questions or would like to contribute, feel free to message any of us.

Well, I've started to play the online game, so I'll be using most of my codes myself. Also, this topic is, for the most part, dead. WoF split, and Bellmore Isn't back, so it seems.

Hello, Offline_play here. I'll be giving out codes here, and I guess I'll describe how that works. If you've got 15 or more posts on the forum under your belt, you can ask me for some codes.

Don't have that many? That's okay! If you take part in discussions here, I'll pop a code your way. If I miss you, pop me a message.

If you've got 70 or more posts under your belt, you can choose from a range of packs. If you either message me, or @ me, I'll take note and start the ball rolling.

And finally, when I pull cards (I like the physical packs, which is where my codes come from), I'll note my favorite/best pulls in a post, and at this post too. DIscuss with me on the merits of those cards, and you could get codes thrown your way.

(You have a one week cooldown after receiving codes from me)

 

What have I got?

A little bit of everything! I give out boosters, decks, single-card codes and sleeves! I'll try to keep a count on my supplies here, on this post.

Keep in mind, higher post counts get you better rewards.

 

 

Thanks to several different cirumstances, I came into some more packs today, and made some durn nice pulls. Check it-

Regice - RvFoil - Ancient Origins - I'm really only mentioning this one for the story. Pulled this as my rare, and right behind it was another, just not foil. Funny how that happens

Skarmory - SM Base Set - I really like a good number of steel types, and this one is no exception. Not a great card, but I like it.

Honchkrow - RvFoil - Ancient Origins - Another not that great card that I like regardless.

White Kyurem - Foil - Lost Thunder - It looks cool, and It's a solid attacker (160 DMG with set-up). Mid-high HP, would use this in a deck.

Sharpedo - RvFoil - SM Base Set - Nice damage, Cool looking Pokémon. A win in my binder.

Sharpedo - Unbroken Bonds - Does much nicer damage than the previous one mentioned. Too bad about that art style, tho...

Gliscor - RvFoil - Unbroken Bonds - Meh. I like it, so it gets a mention.

 

Now for the good stuff-

This weird Exeggutor that I got from Evolutions. The card # is 109/108, it's in Japanese, and it looks...just weird.

Whimsicott GX - FAFoil - Unbroken Bonds - Another one. Great.

Greninja & Zoroark GX - FAFoil - Unbroken Bonds - Much better.

Mimikyu GX - RAFoil - Gotta love that rainbow. WHY GIVE IT TO MIMIKYU!

KOGA'S TRAP - FAFOIL - UNBROKEN BONDS - YES!YES!YES! Coolness.

Dialga - Lost Thunder - Foil - I guess Dialga deserves a mention just because it's a legendary, and while it seems pretty solid, I never really liked that set of legends.

Espeon - Lost Thunder - Foil - Espeon Isn't one of my top picks for Eeveelutions, but I do like it. And an energy heavy opponent will take big damage.

Chansey - Lost Thunder - This card sucks. Useless against bigger threats. Why'd I mention it? I dunno...

Reuniclus - Fates Collide - A nice, low cost attack with big potential, if set up right. 180 potential damage sounds pretty good, but it's super thin on HP.

Lugia BREAK - Fates Collide - Mid-high range HP, super high cost attack (four colorless, and you have to discard all? 150 damage is tempting, but...)

                          The BREAK cards, however look SWEET. Amiright?

Krookodile - UNB - I liked the Krookodile line from when they were first introduced, which incidentally, was also the last games I actually played (Black:2).

Alolan Exeggutor - TEU - In contrast, my first thought on seeing A.Exeggutor was "Ew, no." This card doesn't seem bad, But I wouldn't be caught with it in MY deck.

Blastoise - TEU - My boy. The first Pokémon I ever chose, Squirtle. "Powerful Squall" doesn't seem as good as the original "Rain Dance", but it's got it's perks.

Whimsicott GX - UNB - Toy Box GX. That is all. Might seem like a waste of a GX attack, but I'm sure adding any five cards you want to your hand is pretty good.

 

 

I'm An Eevee lover, so I would say my best pull to date has been  Secret Rare "Snorlax & Eevee GX". The only one better would be "Gardevoir & Sylveon GX".

 

 

As of 2:32AM EDT, June 16, I have-

about 40-ish booster codes, across about 8 pack series.

4 codes for decks

and 1 single-card codes

Also some UNB sleeves.

Hello everhbody, as you all know, I am anonymous.

 

I normally do a staple giveaway every month. I have a lot of staples. I have a ton of great support from this community. I have been able to help beginners when they need help deciding what cards they need to invest in to start their journey.

 

I have had a lot of practice in deck building. I study the best decks on Limitless. You don't have to be afraid to ask me for help.

 

I'll try to keep you all posted on my supplies like Offline_Play has mentioned.

 

I love Blastoise, Magmar, and Greninja. My best pull to date has probably been the Rainbow Rare Lunala GX.

 

I WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS TO THE GIVEAWAY ON THIS THREAD, BUT ANYBODY CAN STILL ENTER ON THE OTHER THREAD AND STILL ASK QUESTIONS ON IT. I AM NOT ABANDONING IT.

 

When I pull staples, I will mention them, maybe one day you will have a chance at a full art staple.

Then allow me to kick things off by asking @WingsofFire1014, what are the Theme Decks? Are they irredeemable trash-tier decks, or are they solid decks that just need power boosts?

I am only going to mention the Sun and Moon decks because the XY theme decks were just rubbish. Theme decks did get better entering the Sun and Moon era. I am only going to me tion the notable ones.

 

The Lunala Theme deck. This one was ruthless when it got rolling. I lost to this one a lot. It has no solid back-up attacker though.

 

The Garchomp Theme deck. This deck was super powerful for a while. It had the best consistency rate and a great back-up attacker in Gumshoos.

 

The Empoleon Theme deck. This deck is hard to beat it you do not know how to manage your bench space. It can do ruthless damage amounts. A better version of the Forbidden Light Lycanroc deck.

 

 

The Charizard and Blastoise decks are pretty good. Charizard is the best right now. Can OHKO anything. Good back-up attacker in Nidoqueen. The Blastoise one is better than it looks. In always loose to it. If it gets going with the Golduck, Pidgeotto, and Blastoise, I just quit. They end up with 10 minute turns. Very underrated. These Team Up decks are great, included the let's go decks.

 

The Zeroara deck from Unbroken Bonds is pretty good. Combined with Ampharos it is great. It snips and sets up quick with the right cards. Without Ampharos though, it is pretty sketchy.

 

There you have it! I am not mentioning the XY deck as they were all rubbish. The Theme format has gotten better since the Sun and Moon era began. You can ask me if you have any more questions about the other Theme decks.

 

Also, the Sun and Moon theme decks have some staples included. Lillie, Cynthia, and even 2 Welder in the new Mewtwo Unbroken Bonds Theme deck.

I don't know which Exeggutor you pulled Tropical Shake or Egg splat, both cards are capable of hitting 180 damage for very less energy and are very good anti-gx builds. However, both only seem good in expanded with Battle compressor and Exeggcute with propagation ability.

It was Tropical Shake A-Exeggutor. I didn't know there were *shudders* more than one. As I said, it seems like a good card, but regardless, You ain't gonna find one in my decks. O'course, I don't play online, so you're not gonna see ANY of my decks. Although Now I've got the itch to make one and post it, for giggles.

Also, you've got a code coming your way.

IMO Storm Caller is BY FAR the best theme deck, I consistently have been winning theme tournaments and blazed through the vs ladder with it. Im sure its a bit harder for new players to understand but Id HIGHLY recommend it, there really isnt a matchup that feels bad

Well out of all,

 

If you prefer more skill-based games, use Storm Caller.

 

If you prefer slower games, use Blazing Volcano.

 

If you prefer fast games, use Relentless Flame.

Haven't played this one. It seems interesting but I haven't lose against it for a while. It doesn't match Charizard according to me. 

 

And since there are so many Blazing Volcano and Relentless Flames players, Water decks are also interesting.

Its hands down the best imo.  i regularly stomp EVERY other deck in tournament,  water decks dont relaly do well against the fire decks imo as well, they CAN but it seems more often than not they dont

Nightly News: Episode 1

 

Welcome to the first episode of Nightly News! Today, our new cards came in the form of Heracross, and a new Special Energy called Draw Energy. These cards will very likely come out in our November set, which will consist of the Japanese sets “Remix Bout”, “Dream League”, and “Alter Genesis”. I don’t know how accurate the translations are, but here we go!

 

Heracross – Grass – HP130
Basic Pokemon

[G] Lunge Out: 20 damage.

[C][C][C] Great Horn: 50+ damage. If your opponent has any TAG TEAM Pokemon in play, this attack does 70 more damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)

What's so special about that Heracross that they'd want to reveal it early? XD

Draw Energy seems pretty cool tho, always appreciate drawing more cards and seeing if I can accidentally deck myself.

 

There was an old Legacy deck where you attached a bunch of energy to Shuckle (HGSS Promo 15 ) and drew through your deck. Looking forward to trying to do the same tactic with Porygon-Z, Draw Energy and Scoop Ups  New overly complicated way to Unown Hand win?
