Change Log

Jul. 29, 2019

  • Added: Metal Goggles (TEU #148, 195): Damage counters placed by the effect of a Pokémon Tool card are blocked by Metal Goggles.
  • Added: Persian-GX (UNB #149, 207, 227): Cat Walk can be used a second time on the same turn by moving Persian-GX between the Active and Benched positions.
  • Added: Pokémon Ranger (STS #104, 113): Attack effects that change the base damage of a different attack during the next turn are not removed by Pokémon Ranger.
  • Added: Triple Acceleration Energy (UNB #234): Attaching this card with the effect of the Alpha Growth Ancient Trait or Harmonics Ability causes it to be immediately discarded.
  • Added: Zooming the opponent's Prize cards while they are taking Prizes can cause their Prizes to remain zoomed on your screen for the rest of the match. Clicking on the Prize cards several times and then clicking on another location on the screen should cause the opponent's Prizes to return to the playmat.
  • Added: The Deck Validation popup does not accurately communicate the reason for failure when the deck contains both Professor Juniper and Professor Sycamore.
  • Added: The For Trade tag cannot consistently be applied to some gameplay items when a tradable and non-tradable copy are owned.

Jun. 25, 2019

  • Removed [FIXED]: Articuno (TEU #32): The Energy removed from Articuno by Cold Cyclone can be split between 2 different Benched Pokémon.
  • Removed [FIXED]: Beast Energy Prism Star (FLI #117): After Beast Energy Prism Star is attached to an Ultra Beast Pokémon moving it to a non-Ultra Beast Pokémon causes that Pokémon's attacks to do 30 more damage to the opponent's Active and Benched Pokémon.
  • Removed [FIXED]: Beast Energy Prism Star (FLI #117): Increases damage done by Ultra Beast Pokémon to the opponent's Active and Benched Pokémon, rather than just the opponent's Active Pokémon.
  • Removed [FIXED]: Muk & Alolan Muk-GX (UNB #61, 196, 197, 220): If the damage from Poison Absorption is prevented, 100 damage will be healed from Muk & Alolan Muk-GX even if the opponent's Active Pokémon is not Poisoned.
  • Removed [FIXED]: Pokémon Ranger (STS #104, 113): This card cannot consistently be played from the hand when effects of attacks from a previous turn are present, and does not consistently remove all effects of attacks when played.
  • Removed [FIXED]: Effects that prevent the opponent from playing Item cards during their next turn also prevent Supporter and Stadium cards from being played.
  • Removed [FIXED]: In some rare cases the client may fail to properly display the selection window after using an effect that allows a player to interact with cards in their discard pile, such as Rescue Stretcher and VS Seeker. The affected player is unable to take any actions until after their turn is automatically ended by the inactivity timer.

  • Added: Attack effects that prevent the opponent's Active Pokémon from using a specific attack on their next turn, such as Amnesia or Disable, can fail if both players use an attack with this effect on consecutive turns.

  • Added: Muk & Alolan Muk-GX (UNB #61, 196, 197, 220): If the damage from Poison Absorption is prevented, 100 damage will be healed from Muk & Alolan Muk-GX even if the opponent's Active Pokémon is not Poisoned.

  • Added: Beast Energy Prism Star (FLI #117): After Beast Energy Prism Star is attached to an Ultra Beast Pokémon moving it to a non-Ultra Beast Pokémon causes that Pokémon's attacks to do 30 more damage to the opponent's Active and Benched Pokémon. Due to the significant opportunity for exploitation, Beast Energy Prism Star is temporarily banned from play until a fix for this bug can be deployed.

Cards

  • Aurorus (FFI #26): Attaching a {W} Energy to a {W} Pokémon while Aurorus is already in play does not apply the effect of Ice Shield until that Pokémon is moved between the Active and Bench positions.
  • Dewgong (UNB #45): The client becomes non-responsive for several seconds after using Dual Blizzard. Repeated used of Dual Blizzard may lengthen the duration of this non-responsive state and may eventually cause the match to crash.
  • Ditto (DET #17): Ditto is not consistently required to have the appropriate amount and type of Energy attached to gain the bonus effect of a copied GX attack.
  • Exp. Share (NXD #87, DV #18, PRC #128, SUM #118): This card's effect does not trigger if a Benched Pokémon is Knocked Out at the same time as the Active Pokémon.
  • Giratina (LOT #97, BSP #SM151): Damage counters from the effect of Distortion Door are not prevented from being placed on a Pokémon with Stealthy Hood attached or the Theta Stop Ancient Trait.
  • Jirachi Prism Star (CES #97): Wish Upon a Star can only be used once per match.
  • Lucario (UNB #126): The bonus damage for Rush Up is only applied if the Pokémon Tool card is still attached at the time the attack is used.
  • Metal Goggles (TEU #148, 195): Damage counters placed by the effect of a Pokémon Tool card are blocked by Metal Goggles.
  • Naganadel (LOT #108): Energy attached from the discard pile by Charging Up will trigger effects that react to Energy being attached from the hand.
  • Pokémon Ranger (STS #104, 113): Attack effects that change the base damage of a different attack during the next turn are not removed by Pokémon Ranger.
  • Stealthy Hood (UNB #186): Attempting to return a damaged Pokémon with Stealthy Hood attached to your hand while the opponent has Mr. Mime (TEU #66) in play will only return Stealthy Hood to your hand.
  • Triple Acceleration Energy (UNB #234): Attaching this card with the effect of the Alpha Growth Ancient Trait or Harmonics Ability causes it to be immediately discarded.
  • Turtonator (BUS #26): Damage from the Flame Cloak attack is not listed in the game log.
  • Wishful Baton (BUS #128, CIN #121): This card's effect does not trigger if a Benched Pokémon is Knocked Out at the same time as the Active Pokémon.

General

  • An error may occur when attempting to uninstall the game via the Control Panel when installed in any language other than English. Running the Installer and selecting "Uninstall" will resolve the issue.
  • The Mac client may fail to install or update over a wireless connection for systems running OSX 10.12 or higher.
  • The PC client uses more that the intended amount of system memory when logging out of and back into the game without first closing and relaunching the client.

Gameplay: General

  • Attack effects that prevent the opponent's Active Pokémon from using a specific attack on their next turn, such as Amnesia or Disable, can fail if both players use an attack with this effect on consecutive turns.
  • Attacks and Abilities that allow a player to discard any number of cards from their hand and then draw cards have inconsistent animations.
  • The damage counter marker remains present on a Pokemon that is returned to the hand if a Pokemon Tool card that increased its maximum HP was attached. This is a visual issue only and is corrected when a change occurs to Pokemon's maximum HP after being replayed, or when the Pokemon is moved to any zone other than in play or in the hand.
  • Using an attack that returns the attacking Pokémon to the hand does not consistently require a new Active Pokémon to be promoted prior to resolving effects on other cards that trigger as a result of the attack.
  • Zooming the opponent's Prize cards while they are taking Prizes can cause their Prizes to remain zoomed on your screen for the rest of the match. Clicking on the Prize cards several times and then clicking on another location on the screen should cause the opponent's Prizes to return to the playmat.

Gameplay: Versus

  • Some players may not appear in the Versus Leaderboards Pokemon.com, despite having earned Versus points during the time frame selected.

Cards: Collection

  • The pack type for unopened theme decks is Bundle Pack, rather than Theme Deck.
  • The placement of the For Want and For Review options in the filter window is swapped for some item types.
  • While in List View, the Collector # column shows the wrong set size for cards from most XY series sets.

Cards: Deck Manager

  • The Deck Validation popup does not accurately communicate the reason for failure when the deck contains both Professor Juniper and Professor Sycamore.

Cards: Trading

  • The For Trade tag cannot consistently be applied to some gameplay items when a tradable and non-tradable copy are owned.
  • While an avatar item is equipped any additional, tradable copies of that item in the Collection cannot be included in a trade offer.
