TCGO on 3DS

Would it be beyond the capabilities of the 3DS to have a cross-platform TCGO game available for download via the nintendo shop?

 

Just curious about why this doesn't exist, if there's ever been discussion about it before etc.

 

I recently got a 3DS and I think it would be great to be able to play. I would of course expect it to be free of any serious latency issues which may be too tall an order; I'm not exactly sure what the 3DS is capable of and how good the internet connection is.

 

Would love to hear any and all opinions on this matter.

If they were to add PTCGO to a Nintendo game console, it would probably be to the Switch, which is there main device now.

Well I don't think the TCGO will ever be on the 3ds, you still can play the TCG on it because the E shop has the Pokemon trading card game for gameboy on it, I've played through it before it's quite fun but it takes a lot of geting used to because of it being base set through fossil, and it's probably the closest thing you'd ever get to the TCGO on the  3ds.

I'm assuming so, but it's probably local wireless. I've only played the original on gameboy so, I'm not sure if you can trade on the 3ds version.

Okay, according to Bulba pedia, it's not. All of the spin-off games have their multiplayer functionality removed for some reason.

 

This also makes a couple of the cards unattainable, because the only way you can get it is from the "Card pop!" feature, which was removed.

 

Oh well.

Hmm I'm sure if the switch can handle Mario odyssey and breath of the wild, it can handle PTCGO, witch most of the thinking is handled on the pokemon company's main servers. and only sound, graphics and login is handled client side.

Well, unless the Switch has cell capability I'm not aware of, it would just be TCG, not because it's not online. 😜
