Nasty Goo Mix-GX:
Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed and Poisoned. If this Pokémon has at least 4 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack's cost), put 15 damage counters instead of 1 on that Pokémon between turns.

Dust Island:

Whenever either player switches their Poisoned Active Pokémon with 1 of their Benched Pokémon with the effect of a Trainer card, the new Active Pokémon is now affected by that Special Condition.

This interaction came up last night. Because Dust Island says "is now affected by that Special Condition" rather than "is poisoned," is that poison still the poison placed by Nasty Goo Mix-GX? That is, will the extra damage continue, and what are the most relevant rulings, if any?

Q. If I Switch my Active Pokemon that is affected by Poison from Muk & Alolan Muk GX's "Severe Poison" attack and Dust Island is in play, does my new Active Pokemon take the extra damage counters?
A. Yes, it does. Dust Island specifies that it is affected by "that Special Condition". (Unbroken Bonds FAQ; May 2, 2019 TPCi Rules Team)
