[PC] Graphics - Couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution problem.

Please could someone help me with this problem?

It says this:

 

Switching to resolution 1600x900 failed, trying lower one
Switching to resolution 1600x900 failed, trying lower one
All resolution switches have failed
Screen: DX11 could not switch resolution (1600x900 **** hz=0)

 

I have played this game before in this PC, but I take a rest for some time. And now I want to play it and I can't because of this problem.

*** PC meets all the minimum requeriments. I have Windows 7 32 bits Service Pack 2

 

Please help.

Hey there!

 

Have you tried a full uninstall/reinstall by following the steps here? If so, please reach out to the support team by clicking the link in my signature, selecting the "PTCGO" option, and then selecting "Contact Us". Please also include a DxDiag file. 

 

You can grab a DxDiag file by following the instructions below:

1. Click the Start button, type in "dxdiag".

2. Wait until "dxdiag.exe" appears and open it.

3. Click on "Save All Information".

Looks like it's trying to set your monitor to 0 hertz for some reason when it tries 1600x900. This logically fails because hertz is the redraw rate: 0 means your screen would redraw 0 times per second (AKA never redraw: always display the same still image no matter what you do).

It's usually fixed by right-clicking the game's shortcut, select properties, go to compatibility and check the box that says "disable full-screen optimalization".
