PTC Account hacked

Hi, I really have no idea what to do now. My ptc and gmail (created specifically for Go) account was hacked 2 weeks ago and I couldn't recover my account. I have tried everything like contacting support to get my account back and they, as usual won't budge and showed them proof it's mine. I called google one to get the gmail back but nothing works because I did not set any security for that gmail. The only thing I have is my username and receipts purchased with my primary email.

I am at level 39 and suddenly I couldn't get in with the linked google account. Is there no way pokemon support could help but sending generic emails?

I think you're going to have to look at this from a different perspective.  I know The Pokémon Company's "canned" responses can be frustrating, but before they can take action, you'll probably need to recover your e-mail account FIRST.

Is "hacked" the correct term here?  Rather than a stranger taking control to get your virtual Pokémon cards, it's most likely your password was compromised.  You might want to start looking closer to home (e.g. friends, little brother, etc.).  Hopefully you didn't sign in to a spoofed site, and inadvertently give your password away.

With that said, you should start with Google.  Try searching their site for "account recovery."

Here's why.  You're trying to recover your game data, but your password doesn't work (right?), and you must be telling Pokémon Support that you also don't have your Gmail account anymore.  I would hope they're unwilling to help you with that.  Would anyone want TPCi to send your login info (new password) to a random e-mail account?  I know I wouldn't.

I wish you the best in solving this, and maybe someone else will know better how to fix it.  To help others who might have this experience, could you update with any solutions or discoveries?

Hey there, I’m no expert but I’ll give you my two cents.

What kind of proof did you show them? If you only have receipts and your username, then I think you can understand why TPCi support is only sending canned responses.

Also, always set security for Gmail addresses. Everyone learns sooner or later, and this is your sooner or later.

My advice is to be more careful from now on.

This is pretty solid.

For reasons Rob and I mentioned, probably yes.
