Event tickets, online purchases.

Hello, I'm a relatively new player and I've been wondering about in game online purchases of boosters, decks, tickets, tokens. Is there a site (i don't need any specific site) just looking for confirmation that I can buy these types of things without getting the ban hammer.

Another question I was wondering about is tournament in general. I've read something about an 89 token tournament that gives the chance to win event tickets? How do I access this?

It seems like alot of people have the same weird luck I do. I will play versus matches all day and rack up wins then as soon as I get in an event I'm first round knock out. Usually end up with one or two basics and none of my cards will come up, then (after I lose) I join a versus and weirdly enough everything goes back to easy streak and I get every card with ease? Super weird that I'm not the only on experiencing this type of card hex during tournaments.. Just wish I had more opportunity to get into them and feel like the grinds for tickets isn't for Jack squat. I've seen people on the internet with 1000s, so I wondered if I could get them with real money or the tokens themselves?

Lol so yeah can I buy tickets? Can I buy cards? Decks? Boosters?

Thx

Buying tickets is at the moment impossible. Buying cards using real money from third party site is against TOS and could cause ban. Buying booster codes(yes, the codes, buying ingame virtual boosters using actual irl money is in same way as cards bannable)online is allowed.

But before you rush into any site to buy the said codes, I would advice to get into trading. Boosters are the currency in this game and theoretically you can "buy" (I will use terms "buy" and "sell" freguently from now on. What I mean by them is basically trading packs for cards or cards for packs)anything in the game given enough amount of packs.

What you want to do is to first get one Tradable booster(the ones bought from shop are tradelocked)either from theme deck tournament (spam Relentless Flame or Blazing Volcano and you should eventually get one victory) or by trying to trade your card (any card, including any common could theoretically do)for little more value than the original had and keep doing this untill you have card that is worth a pack (eg. SM Oranguru, buzzwole) trade it for pack(always go for the newest set,atm Team up).

Boosters have different values so if you ended up getting few less valued boosters you could trade them for one team up(or whatever is the newest set at that time). I can't link cause links get censored around here but if you google ou7c4st card values you should find a site that is listing ESTIMATED card values basing on the values in packs people are trading for a card or value they are willing to trade the card for. Always crossreference the actual trade section before making any decision in trading.

After you have acquired one booster do the following

1. Trade the said booster for any card that checks the following:a)Players try to get the card by one booster but "sell" it for 2 and b)There are multiple players trying to "buy" and "sell" the card meaning there is market for the card. You can get idea from cards people are willing to trade for by checking latest tournament decklist for instance from limitlesstcg. Make trade offer and set time to 8 hours. Always (with some exceptions) use the 8 hour time as the less time there is left before the trade will expire, the higher it will show up in trade section seach results. After you get the card move to point 2.

2.Unsurprisingly trade the card for 2 boosters by making offer. Try to check the trade for instance once per 2-3 hours to get info when excactly did the trade go through(ofcourse if you are playing the game anyway during this time you will get the notification after the trade either was completed or expired). The ideal situation would be that you can get the card for pack asap and you can get 2 boosters from the card asap. If you for instance get the card very quickly(in few minutes) but are struggling to trade it for 2 packs there is good chance the card is nearer(if not excactly) worth of 1 pack. In this case you can however most likely trade it back for 1 pack and then try to get other card checking the same criteria as presented in point 1. Card values can vary depending on time so checking trade section regularly is wise. Repeat the process by every booster you get from trade. You started with 1 booster so 1*2=2 now by trading these boosters for cards and the cards for 2 booster each 2*2=4 you have now 4 boosters. Then by trading yet these 4 packs for cards and back 4*2=8 you have 8 packs. Keep in mind it's very unlikely that every trade you create will go through. There is competition in trading and pool of players trying to "buy" the cards is limited. Keep on trying and if you feel like you can't "sell" the card for profit, trade it for value you "bought" it with.

3. After you have over 10 or so boosters I would go for consistency over how many packs you get per trade. For instance if you see that you can get one card for 1 pack and there are tons of players "selling" it for 2 packs you may want to bundle 2 of these cards and "sell" them for 3 packs. While you only get 1 booster profit per 2 packs you invested in long run(especiallyif you are having tens of trades up at any given time) this will benefit you by more consistent pack flow and cut costs in coins. Ofcourse if you have found a trade that is working extremely well for you as 1 pack for card and the card for 2 packs trade there is no reason to change it.Have variety in cards you are "buying" and "selling" as trading only for 1 or 2 cards could set you vulnerable to market changes. Also there is no way you can get all trades go through if you have 10 offers trading one particular card. Also check for cards from varying price ranges, preferably however for cards that you can "buy" for 1-4 packs.

4.keep on doing same things as in point 3. Try to keep as many trades up as you can and feels good for you. Reward yourself from time to time by "buying" cards for yourself. Remember it's game, if you feel like you are fed up with trading, keep break.

What if I run out of coins?

Do the ingame quests and as last resort play zoroark puzzle on easy mode and sounds muted to acquire 3 coins per run.https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-online-games/. Keep in mind that even if you screw up 20 trades, you have yet only paid 160 coins which is still 40 less than you would have needed to buy 1 untradable booster from the ingame shop.

Why you didn't mention any particular card to trade for?

Card values shift constantly and also I view it as necessary skill to be able to independently follow the market. Just quite recently I could have adviced to spam jumpluff trades and as it seems now, that isn't as effective target as it used to be.

Good luck and have fun!

Edit:What I have read, there used to be 89 coin tournaments that would give event tickets as prices but those got removed after whole system got reworked. Also I think the sole reason people are sitting on pile of tickets is that simply they haven't used those tickets acuired from vs points, daily quests and so on. For instance If we assume player gets 2 tickets per day from quests and 17 tickets per versus-season(21 days) the player can get 59 tickets per 21 days which in year(assuming player compltetes all of the quests) translates into 17*59 +8*2=1019 tickets.

Well, there are many websites that sell code cards to redeem cards, or tradable packs. Tokens and tickets have to all be earned. Not sure what 89 token tournament you’re referring to but you will definitely win tokens in every tournament and you have the chance to win tickets. Hope this helps!

Hi, welcome.

1. AFAIK there's no legal way to purchase online stuff with money. Used to be some "gems" only for Canada but they removed. Rules of the game, Terms and conditins and so say something like:' Any transaction of online stuff involving real money is forbidden and can end with the closing of the involved accounts'. More or less.

There's in addition the risk of not being paid when you give some stuff or not receive the stuff when you've paid and so, you know how the internet is.

The good is you can purchase IRL pokémon stuff in stores: decks, bundles, boxes, tins and so, and all of them include an online code to redeem in the online.

Do you have to spend 4 dollar/euro per a pack or 20 for a tin or 80 for a booster box? Or if you not interested in physical cards? Happily, if you can find a local store where they have a Pokémon cards league or they sell IRL pokémon stuff, including single cards, they probably will also sell codes, and a code can be 0'50 or 0'60 or 1 dollar or 0'25, depending the set or what contains or if you buy in bulk. And it's not illegal

These are also sold in internet shops of cards and so. Take care with places like "electronic bay" and others not being a shop with a physical place as you could end paying for already redeemed codes so if you try in the web, make sure it's a well known trusty site even if you have to pay a bit more for the codes.

2. They removed the 89 tokens events so, they're gone. You'll have to win tickets with 4th day login,  with 100, 490 and 1170 rewards on ladder, and the surprise boxes from ladder wins.

People on the net have 1000 event tickets because they've playing for years without entering tournaments often. If you never spend, the amount grow of course and one day you check and you see 700 there

3. I don't know what to say about luck. Maybe a lot of people only goes tournaments with Meta decks, and other enter with just what they have. A Pro deck it's going to win a casual deck 90% of times lets say? So maybe your match ups are against these.

In the ladder though, as the game prioritizes the fast games over the equal games, the match ups can be a lot more random and in addition, in some way, you're faced with players in a theoretic similar level based in a secret ELO. So you can win a lot more even with a casual deck.

I would suggest you to play Theme tournaments until you have experience enough in deck-building and the staple trainers to make any custom deck you want before entering Expanded or Standard events. Getting packs and tickets in Theme to build that custom for a while is a good way to get free rewards and not loosing always in 1st rounds.

Really? 4h nobody saw this and when I'm writing a wall get 2 more answers in same minutes? LOL

I thank you guys for stating thing the tutorial taught me. And I have bought around 7-8 theme decks and use in events relentless flame, storm caller, or destruction fang decks which are the decks I get a good run with in versus mode. I win and useually 89% of the time I get cards I need, sure some times I might struggle a bit but in the end I get what I need. Then I enter a event and it's just like every card I need is at the very bottom of my deck. Energy, trainer cards, stage 1s 2s all completely vanish until I lose the event (100% of the time in the first round)(and that in 12 events so far)... I go back to versus and what do you know all my cards come back out again and I win matches easily.

Just weird, but mainly wanted more tickets to play more and hence have more chance to win not playing a event once every 5 days to get worked and start the grind over again. Kind of all work no real reward (yes I know there are other rewards) but I mean to grind for a while, join a bunch of event and find out the grind was for a uncommon chest with 25 tokens and a card in it is kind of depressing lol

Well, you should get little by little if you don't already own it, Blazing volcano, Torrential cannon, Imperial command and eventually Hydro fury too.

They involve the Weakness against best theme decks (the two fire ones) to eventually win easier.

Here you have a thread talking about best Theme decks to play and to get for picking staple cards for custom builds. Check full thread for more info: http://forums.pokemontcg.com/topic/70032-theme-decks/?do=findComment&comment=620789

Very interesting seeing that out of 10 the last  theme deck tournaments I have participated in I have won 3,come 2nd 3 times,  only won 1st round 2 times and dropped instantly on 1st round 2 times. Also saying things like "But I win 89% out of my ladder games" is quite useless because I would think you haven't kept track from 100 games.

I don't buy your argument "bad luck" . Like what cards are you exactly searching for, that always end up on bottom of the deck? You do realize that you cannot try to get board consisting of two blazikens ,entei, magcargo and what not evry game, right? In my experience theme deck tournaments come down to who has first something threatening on the board and can snowball from there, be it entei with only 2 energies, houndoom, whatever goes at the time. If you are trying to build some kind of fantasy board every single game, you are doomed to fail. Ofcourse, if there is some kind of curse surrounding you, then there is nothing we can do for that. I can however assure that for over 89% of the players, that is not the case.

Tutorial taught you things stated in these comments? Are you kidding me?You asked things, you got answers to every single one of them and now you are basically saying you know all of this already. I think you just scrolled down the comments and as you didn't find anything to suit your ego, you decided to ignore it.

Edit:My bad, you were lacking blazing volcano.

First of all what is this guys problem? ^^^^ lol

Anywho, I've noticed alot of people using the mech theme decks seems to be pretty fluid and able to get cards easily.

And to try to answer your clear rant about something you had nothing to do with but took offense to. I was merely pointing out that the whole get prizes through challenges is pretty straight forward. Though some meaning very little of it was things I already knew it wasn't meant to be taken as an insult but just statement of fact most people already know you can win token by playing matches and winning, get more for winning more up to 4x blah blah blah. It definitely wasn't meant to be taken however you are sir.

But yeah. As for luck I guess it just might be it. But I have read more then one person noticing how the advantage and ability to receive cards to help you move forward with your attack tend to disappear once you enter a event. I was actually thinking about recording it and sending it to Pokemon International an seeing what they say about the it. Cause it's pretty weird I gotta say. But I'll keep grinding, see how it goes. Thanks for the help and hope Pokemon re-impliment online purchases. I spent thousands on mobile strike, I wouldn't mind buying stuff here as well if the chance comes up.

The RNG is working as intended, end of the story. In all of my years here I've yet to see a single well done study showing that any of the luck-based events in the game show a pattern that deviates from their mathematically expected values.

The claim that "your advantage" specifically disappears when you play events is also completely illogical. If you have "your advantage disappear", that means that your opponent suddenly "gained an advantage" out of nowhere. Now you have to explain how and why the RNG is choosing specifically to mess you up instead of your opponents. The idea that the RNG is broken in such a particular manner that it only gives you bad luck is inane. And if it isn't only messing you up, instead randomly giving you good or bad luck, that has a different name: normal luck (a.k.a the RNG doing its intended work).

Send a video if you want. All you're gonna do is make someone on the other end of the screen laugh a little. If even that.

You do realize without quoting in online discussion, it is vey difficult to see on what you are refferring with comment like that, right? We can't see each other's faces, we cannot see in which tone the other person is presenting their point. Obviously I went little over board with mine, and I'm sincerely sorry for that. However, even if you get advices that may represent obvious information, I don't really see point for such message. Every single person who is posting anything on these forums is spending at least few minutes of their time. Overwriting it with such message is simply rude. Just politely thanking and moving on is fine.

And, it wouldn't actually be that bad unless you were explaining your bad tournament success with luck. It is same argument that Hearthstone players who can't reach Legend use. It's same argument as Bronze/Iron players in LoL use as their argument. It's argument that screams "I would get on top, but..." coupled with your magical 89% ladder wr ofcourse. It's pure ignorance at its finest.

And I don't have problem with it. You can happily live in wonderland if you wish so. Just don't expect anyone to be able to help you to get better in this game.

Edit: As I looked further, originally you said

I thank you guys for stating thing the tutorial taught me.

So which part of my post was taught by tutorial?
