When are we getting the slowplay option in the report section?

Does this game dev's care about the trolling in the game?

That's a very subjective call, and I can't see it ever happening.  There's already "warning" notifications that will penalize these slow players.  Eventually, if they just sit there doing nothing, you'll get the victory (I think it's after the 2nd turn of inactivity).  I agree with you, it's annoying, but there's not a whole lot else that can be done.  One player's idea of "slow play" may be vastly different from someone else's.

As well, they might be having temporary internet issues.  That wouldn't be their fault, and I can't see anyone on Staff going over move by move plays (in a game log) to verify that they took too long, or trying to determine WHY.

Some are handicapped.  Some are even legally blind.  Some are brand new, and struggling.  Some have reading difficulties.  Some are simply stupid, and that can't be changed.

About a year ago, at a big Regionals, I had one of these hotshot players call a Judge on me.  The whole game had been played on a consistent pace (actually, it was Game 2).  On one particular turn, I looked through my deck, playing a Trainer.  I realized that I needed another card.  When I scanned my deck again, he "reported" me for slow play.  I'm telling you now, I wasn't playing slow.  What an <self-censored>.  Now imagine how often that might happen in this anonymous, virtual game.

@Staff, you have better things to do.  Please get to them.  Quit dawdling.  ;)

Hello Roy_DM,

As RobRatt noted, there are several factors that could make this difficult to tell if someone is purposely playing slow or whether they are having internet issues or a tough time making the right decision in the current match.

If you ever feel a trainer is purposely playing slow to take advantage of the versus system, you can always open a ticket to the support team and an investigation can be done after that. You can find a link to the support portal in my signature.

Yes I know we can have multiple definitions of slow play, but I mean in the case of player's already winning and not being willing to finish the match. If we can not get a report option "since the devs are bussy doing some other things" (like banning the chat I guess), can we get a faster concede option?

What do you mean, faster concede option? You can press "concede" before even the coinflip goes through.

"Slowplay" is not going to get penalized, period. Ragestalling is one thing, which you can already report. But just playing slowly isn't even remotely close to being a punishable offense.

Patience is a virtue, it really pays off in the end. Just let your opponents take their time thinking through their plays. If it's really that much of a problem for you, you can always just concede yourself and move on to the next (potentially faster) opponent.

"Just let your opponents take their time thinking through their plays."

What tough is needed when you win after attacking? Yet I have to stare at the opponent finishing using his abilities, picking the cards to draw (for example with mallow), selecting a target for guzma, etc etc even AFTER conceding. Its a engine limitation ok, so place the report option.

Good thing lunalaGX aint that popular, opponents moving energy back and for just for trolling would be rampant since the policy is no penaltys for trolling.

You're talking about a small minority of people who actually troll by doing things like moving energies back and forth for no reason even though they're winning. I've played thousands of games and have never encountered a single person who does that. I've seen a few ragestallers who do that when they're losing, not winning. And even then, they're still a minority. Setting a generalized penalty for "slowplay", affecting thousands and thousands of honest players who just need the extra time in some situations, and only to punish a couple of trolls makes absolutely zero sense. ZERO. You can already report real trolls, and if the evidence shows they were actually trolling (such as the moving energies example you mentioned) then they will be dealt with accordingly.

There is also no such engine limitation. The game ends the instant you press "concede". If a card effect was in the middle of its animation it has to finish first, but were're talking about 1-5 seconds of wait at most (and 5 is assuming they played something with a long animation such as a shuffling effect). If this isn't the case then there is something wrong in your end because that's not how it's supposed to work.

I don't understand why you still play this game anymore. In a little more than 2 years, all you ever seem to post are complaint threads (many of which are completely baseless), and you never listen to anything that people type in response to you. It's obvious that you don't enjoy it. Why are you still here?

Players who are purposefully "rubbing it in" on the last turn are maddening for sure.  ...Poor winner, and all that.  If all they have to do is attack for the last Prize, why do they continue to play Supporters, attach an Energy on the bench, etc.?  At that point, they should just WIN, so we can both go on.  But it's surely not worth "reporting" it, or expecting the Staff to dish out penalties.

In this situation, I've got the Concede button pushed.  I hold on the "Are you sure?" button, and if they start playing unnecessary cards, BOOM, no glory.

Yet, is there a right or wrong side?  What if they're doing it intentionally, because they think you're trolling?  Are they thinking, "Hey dude, I had you beat four turns ago, and you made me keep playing.  You should have conceded when you had the chance."

Some people will play a game out, no matter what.  Some will concede in a heartbeat, even prematurely.  All kinds are just playing a game.  If you don't take it, or your ego too seriously, it's not so bad having these "first world problems."

Reading this, I am reminded of a few things:

1) I've posted the suggestion before that currently active Daily Challenges ought to be displayed at the player match-up screen.  I mean, it makes more sense than revealing the Pokémon Types of my deck. XP  Relevant to the discussion is that this would give you an idea if someone isn't finishing the match because they want to meet a challenge or because they're showboating.

2) Showboating - apparently, this is no longer common TCG vernacular... unless I post this and find out it's censored. XP  If your opponent could win and starts showing off everything they could also do, it used to be known as "showboating".  Playing with friends via Apprentice, as well as with the actual cards in person, we'd just ask "Hey, can I showboat?" and that usually got a "yes" because just being asked cut the salt.

Thanks for providing the right term for the situation described. All the times I asked in this forums it was named "slowplaying"

Interesting, you did a research to find out what I asked previously, isnt this some type of bullying?

2 matches today, one lost and this one won... 1 minute 16 seconds just waiting for the opponent to take a price card and select where to direct the energy to finish the match. Not a huge problem with ONE opponent, but this kind of thing, once every three matches.

Since I cant upload pictures, I cant show you, but feel free to ask for them by PM.

If your threshold for "bullying" is "having a good memory" and pointing out a bad attitude, that must mean that you've never been bullied before (and I'm happy for you, being bullied for real is a terrible thing, specially in situations where it is inescapable such as being a kid at school with nowhere to run or hide).

People who either make large positive contribution to the community, or on the contrary just complain ad nauseum without ever contributing anything leave a strong impression on me. When your name popped up in this thread I immediately remembered your previous complaint threads. I only checked the date real quick because I didn't want to say something that wasn't true and look like an idiot.

That's all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

The part about disabled people is exactly what I was going to point out. But, I scrolled through all the posts to figure out if someone had already mentioned this. This could be something that you need to realize Roy DM.

By the way, the first part was quoting Rob.

Yeah no, no legally blind person or handicapped would play all of the match at normal timing, then sundenly need to take 2 minutes to choose an unrevealed price card. Sorry but no.

As I suppected Sakura, that's bullying, you're just making excuses for it.

How about the part that Rob mentioned about beginners? Even I was slow when I first started, because I had to figure out how I wanted to run my deck engine.

Also, Sakura is NOT bullying you. She is just trying to get you to realize a few things. Calm down, you don't have to be toxic.

I'd not notice I was about to win and keep preparing my pokemon to deal with the results of my attack.
