Zapdos not super effective against water types

I run a Gyarados Distilled Blast deck, and I frequently run into decks that include Zapdos. Thunderous assault has never had a super effective hit against my gyarados or magikarp. This may not be a bug, and if it's not, I would love an explanation as to why not. On the other hand, I'm sure this is creating a negative experience for Zapdos players, and hope that this issue is resolved.

I would guess that you've either been matched with bad players, who just net-decked a Zapdos list, and have no idea how to play it, or you've run into guys having bad luck getting set up.  You say they've never had a "super effective hit" against your 30 HP Magikarp?  Something smells fishy with that comment alone.  Most Zapdos/Jirachi lists are running 4 Guzma, which doesn't do Magikarp a bit of good, even with the Submerge Ability on the Bench.

I'm not sure what you mean by, "hope that this issue is resolved."  Are you talking about the Lightning weakness of Gyarados?  Because Zapdos' attack says right in the text, "This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness."  That's not going to be resolved.

Keep at it.  You'll run into someone who knows how to play well, and they'll "create a negative experience" for Gyarados.  It's inevitable.

P.S.  Why did you post this in the Game Bug section?

Ah I see. That makes sense. I didn't realize the text in the attack box said "is not affected by Weaknesses."

Excuse my ignorance. Thank you, sincerely, for the explanation.
