[GENERAL] Invalid login or password error? - PC

I logged into my account about an hour ago just fine. Now when I try I get protocol error?? I'm confused as to why I'm unable to log in...

Yeah same problem. I just created my account yesterday but I got some really good Pokemon for the start and my friend wants to trade them for some good stuff. Maybe its because of my name bet I would change it because the game so much fun.

Never mind not confused anymore now there is a message on bottom of login screen that says 3/5/2019: Login is currently offline. Soooo I'm assuming it crashed for everyone

Yes! I can confirm, this problem is for everyone.

I'm logged 1 hour ago and was OK; now I have the same problem, ( here in Italy), the message below "login is currently offline" is in red, and then "errore di protocollo".

we have to wait...maybe some upload??

...but also on website, it's no possible to login, if you try, this is the answer:

My bro cant sign in his account anymore. Is any way to reset the password? He saved the username and password but when he clicks "sign in". He got invalid login or password right away.

If this is an issue that just started happening today, they've been having server maintenance issues much of the day.  If you go to the Pokémon Support page right now, there is this notice....

 

Scheduled Maintenance Outage for 3/5/19 ONGOING

•Users will be unable to log in to Pokémon (website) or Pokémon Trainer Club accounts.

•Users will be unable to edit their profiles or create new Pokémon Trainer Club accounts.

 

If it's more, you'll want to contact Support once the above notice is fixed.  To do that, have your brother click Customer Service at the bottom of any page.  That takes you to Support.  If you check Trainer Club / Account on that page, there's a FAQ on how to change his password.

I followed all the steps in this thread and am still unable to login.  

 

I'm getting a message that says invalid Username/Password when the info is saved on my devices.  This is happening on my tablet and PC.

^^  This is NOT resolved.  It's still broken (as of this timestamp, 6:30 PST) for many users.

 

I haven't had a single problem logging in all day.  Both the game and website (forum) have been fine.

 

My other 2 family members can't sign in either of them.  They haven't been able to all day.

 

But, we don't see this supposed "Protocol Error."  In the forum login page, it just keeps repeatedly going back to the login.  In the game it says, "Invalid Login or Password."

 

EDIT:  Just a few minutes ago (7:40 PM PST), it's working for my other two family members.  They can now login to the game, and the forum.  Looks like someone is getting some good overtime pay.

Attempts to perhaps reset my password anyway takes my to the main Pokemon site and I get an Oops! Unexpected error. So can't login due to wrong (??) password, and can't reset password either.

 

I haven't seen a thread/announcement about this kind or error message on PCs so I don't know if this is an ongoing bug or if my account has been locked/hacked? The issue is ongoing an hour later.

 

Any insight would be appreciated,

1.  Today is March 5th.  :)

 

2.  They've been having server problems most of the day, affecting only some users.  It's not you, and you don't have to reset your password, or anything.  Patience is the key here.  Many of them have been fixed already.

 

3.  The moderators have clumped many of the similar issues into this thread, just below yours....

I've uninstalled, deleted files, redownloaded installer, reinstalled...

 

Still can't login on PC as of now. Invalid login or password messages. 

 

Try to change password, get Oops! messages online.

 

Any updates/new solutions for PC users?

My bro can't login to his account on PC either. keeps getting invalid Username/Password error. I tried logging him in on my computer and it still didn't work. I can login fine though on my account. please fix cause he has like 4yrs worth of stuff on his and some of the new stuff thats really good. He really doesn't want to start over :(. Please fix. this was as of 3/7/19 10:00 EST and now at 2:00 EST
