TCG Rules questions.

Hey all.

Does the Pokemon TCG have an equivalent to MTG's Ask a Judge IRC channel to get rule questions answered quickly, 24/7? If not, where's the best place to get solid answers on interactions / rulings?

A few specific rules questions:

Does a grey circle with no icon by a Pokemon attack mean no energy required?

If I used my Salazzle's "severe poison" ability and I have two Sevipers on my bench with the "More Poison" ability, will that result in 6 poison counters to the defending pokemon each turn?

If my Salazzle used their severe poison ability successfully, then is removed from play, will the severe poison still be in effect, or will it go from 4 to 1 counter between turns?

Thanks

No, there's nothing equivalent in Pokémon.  The closest you'll get is here in the forum, which actually isn't too bad.  Many of the players here are quite proficient in common rules.  It's 24/7 too, just not always quickly.  How often are you going to need an answer in 5 minutes anyway?

There's always Reddit, but that's another world altogether.  Not my first choice.

What official rulings there are can be found at PokeGym Compendium.  You'll want to google that.

1.  Yes, that's a "no energy" attack.

2.  Yes, the Sevipers stack, unless your opponent has something that stops Abilities (Garbodor, Alolan Muk, Silent Lab Stadium, etc.).  Here is the official ruling...

Q. Does Seviper's "More Poison" Ability stack if I have more than one of them in play?

A. Yes, each of your Pokemon with a "More Poison" ability will add an additional damage counter to your opponent's Poisoned Pokemon in between turns. (Burning Shadows FAQ; Aug 3, 2017 TPCi Rules Team)

3.  Once Salazzle's poison is put on your opponent's Active Pokemon, it doesn't matter what happens to Salazzle.  That poison remains on their Active until your opponent retreats, or is healed somehow (with a Trainer, etc.).

About #3 to be clear, the effect of the attack (the poison) remains as stated, does not change to 1 counter and keeps the 4.

To be modified to 1 poison counter the more common would be read something like "As long as this is your active pokémon...". Not the case.

Also, to be a 4 counters needs to be placed by the attack, new/next poisoned opponents will get only 1 if placed through HypnoLaser, Poison barb or other.

Just do note that even 0 energy attacks are affected by effects that increase energy cost, such as through Goomy with the Sticky Membrane ability (however, such effects do NOT affect Pokemon who have a specific effect on them that reduces energy cost to 0, such as the Rotom cards with 9 Tools in the Discard Pile).
