This game needs a completely new installer

I like your game a lot but the toolkit that you guys used to create the installer/uninstaller for this game is antiquated. If I google for the USER_PROFILE error, only topics made in this forum appear in the search results. That's how bad the (un)installer is. You can't even use Windows's own uninstaller to uninstall the game which is yet another sign that it's bad. Listen developers, if you care about us and the game then you ditch that antiquated toolkit and buy a better one to compile installers.

One thing I'd like to mention. If you're trying to reinstall the game rather than delete it for good, you don't actually need to uninstall first. All you need to do is download a fresh installer and go install right away. The game will install over the old one without having to uninstall first. This circumvents the user profile bug (at least for me).

This is what I do after every patch at least, because every time my client tries to patch it gets stuck on a patching loop, and reinstalling seems to be the only thing that does the trick for me.

I can't anymore, at least not on my primary admin account because I get that error almost as soon as I run the installer. I used a 3rd party uninstaller to uninstall the game on my primary admin account in Windows and that is probably why I keep getting that error when I try to reinstall the game there, so I made a 2nd user account in Windows with admin rights and installed it there. On my primary account I browsed to the folder where the game was installed and created a shortcut on my desktop. So it's more or less fixed for me but this also shows people have to jump through hoops to get the game working again after encountering that error, all because of a badly written installer or a very outdated toolkit that was used to create the installer or perhaps even a combination of the two. But Iobit uninstaller is NOT at fault here because I have been using it for a quite a while with no issues, mostly because the developers of the software I uninstalled with it actually bothered to use a decent toolkit to create the (un)installer for their software.

Of course, these errors must be fixed. Both the user profile and patching loop errors are a major pain and could potentially drive away people that haven't invested all that much time in the game yet. I just thought I could give you a temporary workaround, but sadly it seems like it doesn't work in your case.

Already did that before posting this thread. I just wanted to point out that the installer needed an overhaul.
