FAREWELL EVENT: Winner Loof6

This is a special tournament at the end of which participants will receive the following prizes

 

-Winner: Tropical Beach 2011

-2nd place: 2x FA SR UB

-3rd and 4th: 6x SR basic energies for each player

-5th to 8th: SR Max Potion Plasma Freeze set

 

Registration: if you wish to participate just make a post on this thread .

 

The list of participants will be published on this thread once entries are confirmed and validated by me. I reserve the right to reject / exclude any participant for whatever reason I deem appropriate (lack of reactivity...)

 

The event will start once 16 participants are registered and at the latest by 7 March 2019.

Direct elimination, Best of 3,

You must use the exact same deck for each round but may switch decks between rounds.

Rules:
Participants must:
- commit to regularly check announcements made on the thread;
- act in a timely manner and play their games within the deadline set for each round (inactivity and no-shows will be counted as a loss);
- observe all PTCGO Rules and act fairly towards all persons involved;
- compete in line with the spirit of the game.

A player who disconnects during the game or is unable to finish it for whatever reason loses the game in question unless his opponent agrees otherwise.

You are not required to share your deck-list with your opponent, make sure to set this option in Settings/Gameplay according to your decision.

If you cannot resolve a dispute among yourselves, as we all expect you to , export a log of the game and send it to me via personal message on the forum.

Which format will the Event be, Standard? Expanded?

 

I think it's rewarding the richest players. For example PikaKrom or Jirachi/Zapdos are quite good decks I think but those with limited resources probably haven't yet that last cards to play with or ended building/tuning new Meta decks, so the richer will get more as they have probably better decks.

 

If I was me I would spread a bit the prizes, maybe 3 ladder? Top 8 decreasing rewards is asking too much?    Anyway, your event your rules of course.

 

Although I have no big hopes to win finally, could I participate?

This is a special tournament at the end of which the winner will recieve my entire collection (all my unolcked cards, gameplay items and a few unopened packs I have left). If participants wish to contribute to the event, all their donations will go to the winner.

 

It is exclusively open to players I already know or to players invited by players I already know.

Why are you leaving. I mean its good to take a break from time to time but giving away your entire collection is huge. Are you sure you wouldn't return later?

Hope all is well with you and your family.  Like my son did, it sounds like yours might have found other interests, at least for the time being.  Don't be surprised when he wants to come back to it down the road.  Life happens, but something about this silly game seems to draw you back.

Hi Rob, nice to hear from you my friend. Thank you for your kind words, if I am amongst the good ones you are one of the best .

You got it right my son has other interests now and I don't have the motivation to keep collecting too many new cards and play only very occasionally some of my old expanded decks.

 

So I thought I would make someone in here happy by organizing one last event which is what I enjoyed doing most, but obviously I was too optimistic. I overestimated the number of people who still remember this as much as I do 

 

So I do not see this happening as I imagined it. But if we end up to be 4 players at least I could do something nice with a Tropical Beach as a prize, I expect Felidae_ would appreciate to have one (more) in his collection.

Hello there, thank you for your wishes, but this event is limited as per my original post for a reason. If the prize is changed I will probably allow everyone interested to enter.
