Pricing cards for a deck

Hi everyone.

 

First thanks to everyone for the kind responses not just to mine but all the new player requests. It's great to be part of such a positive and helpful community.

 

So I'm trying to start scaling toward my first deck but there are some items I'm still missing. I'm all for trying to trade for then on the market board but I'm not sure what a fair price for them is. If anyone is willing to help me with them that would be really appreciated.

> Jirachi: if this is the one from TUP, I don'k know, but it seems to be somewhat expensive.

 

> Lysandre: is this Lysandre Prism Star? If so, it's pretty cheap. If you offer a low value pack for it you should get it no problem.

 

> Max Potion: don't know either but it should be cheap (less than a pack).

 

> Shrine: probably 1 or 2 packs. Not 100% certain though.

 

> Erika: no idea, but most non-FA supporters are worth 1 pack at most (usually less than a full pack with a few exceptions).

 

> Marshadow-GX: I'd say around 1 LOT or 1 TUP pack. For a different pack it's either 2 or 3 packs.

 

> Blacephalon-GX: 11 packs.

 

> Flareon-GX: no idea either.

 

I'm going by Outcast's price guide in case you're interested. It gets regularly updated, but it takes a while for the new stuff to get a price (I think he waits for prices to stabilize).

Shrine is around 1 pack (lost thunder or team up)

lysandre around 2-3 a pack (prism star) --> edit

max potion are very cheap like 4 a chest or an expanded pack.

Erika is like a pack or a bit more each.

 

Flareon GX is around 6-7 lost thunder packs.

Marshadow GX is 1 pack.

Blacephalon is around 5-6 team up or around 8-9 lost thunders.

Jirachi is around 13-15 team up or around 20 lost thunders.

 

Note - I haven't done the pure math on the pack ratios (team up : lost thunder is around 1 : 1.25 or 1.3), however these are the approximate prices on the public market right now.

About Jirachi, I think it's better if you let the hype die a little before trying to get some. No guarantees that it will ever drop below 10 packs or something, but I can't imagine it staying at 20 packs forever.

This seems like a fantastic resource.  Thank you for taking the time to do this for the community.

Jirachi is at a high right now, coming out of a dominant performance at Oceania Internats.  It's price can only reasonably go down- because of three things: 1), the set is still fairly new, so all prices are constantly slowly dropping. 2) It's just a holo rare- unless this becomes the exception to beat all exceptions, its value can't stay this clost to where Lele and Shay were when they were run in similar numbers, and 3) the format moves.  For now, running lot of switch and rope seems to be working, but if Absol stays popular, deckspace efficiently is going to put a serious limit on Jirachi.

 

Though I should say I've been wrong before.

That's some really helpful insight.  I'm still kinda getting used to the meta and what all the decks are and do.  I'm pretty exclusive to theme decks right now but looking to move into standard very soon.
