How can I trade with my child?

Hi everyone,

 

I created a Pokemon TCG account and play on iPad with it. I have also created a child sub account so we can both enjoy battling and making up new decks but I have noticed I cannot trade with my child any of the cards I have or decks.

 

Is there any answer to this? Should I delete their account and create an "adult" account?

im not really sure, since i dont have a child account but something you can check while you wait for an official answer.

log into your pokemon trainer account on the main webpage and go to your ptcgo settings. make sure that those settings for both accounts allow for all trades.

 

also, im going to assume you trading "unlocked" cards and decks, but if you are trying to trade "locked" cards and decks you cant.

A child account's social preference in pokemon is set to "limited" status. This is for protection of players of small age from bullying and other sorts of bad activities on internet.

Hence, your child might be unable to trade with you. To fix this, go to pokemon website and login with your account, manage your child account from there and set the social preference to custom and set them as you want to.

Do you have tradeable cards? Cards you got for free in the game are mostly not tradeable.

Thank you for the helpful responses! The instructions that harshu gave are very helpful.

To update your child's social settings, log into your parental account, then select your child's name on the left menu. From there, click Pokémon TCG Online Settings. Select the custom option, then select each setting individually.

There are two different settings for allowing trading, one for Friends and one for Public. You must enable the option to add Friends and add your child to your Friends List before you can trade with him or her with that method.

You may only trade cards that are not trade locked.

Please note that children playing on an adult account is against the Terms of Use.
