LF Trainer Supporter Cards

Hi guys :) I'm fairly new and up to the stage where I need to start focusing on good Trainer cards. I focused on getting the GX Pokemon I wanted first. The Full Art Supporters are gorgeous, I've read these are quite expensive? Since I'm new with not ample to offer, I'm not getting that many results in the public trades section which makes it hard to see what things are going for. Can anyone tell me approximately how much the following are, both FA and regular? If you have them FT and I have enough we can make a deal:

Team Flare Grunt

Lusamine

Team Rocket's Handiwork

Team Skull Grunt

Brigette

Lysandre

Also, I'd like to get rid of some commons, uncommons and rares. Ones that don't have good abilities, how much should I ask for. For example, 0.5 for 5 rares? Do Holo and Reverse Holo make a difference? Thanks!

Depends a lot on which one. As you could expect, the ones that are used the most are the most expensive ones, while the ones that are situational, useful only on specific decks, or just straight up bad, are rather cheap. Most of them are pretty affordable, actually. However, a few of them are core to pretty much every deck, and end up costing quite a bit because of that (Cynthia is 40+ packs, Guzma is 17 or so, Professor Elm is around 10, etc).

Since I'm new with not ample to offer, I'm not getting that many results in the public trades section which makes it hard to see what things are going for.

You can use OU7C4ST's Card Value Guide (you can search it in google) as a reference. The best way to know the prices of cards is to go to the Public Trades and look at what's being offering for it and asking for it, and then calculate an average. The Card Value Guide though is a good way to quickly know the approximate value of a lot of cards.

One thing I should note is that it's usually hard to trade cards for other cards unless you're offering something of high value. Offering low value cards for other low value cards can work, but offering a massive stack of cheap cards for a single, expensive one usually doesn't work (so, trading 99 random rares in exchange for a 5 pack card might not result even if the values technically add up). Using packs as a form of currency is usually the better way. Incidentally, right now the most used "currency" is Lost Thunder packs, followed by Guardian Rising packs. You can offer any pack you want, of course, but if you look at public trades there are a lot of things being offered in exchange for one of these 2 packs.

Can anyone tell me approximately how much the following are, both FA and regular?

Team Flare Grunt (1.75)

Lusamine (1.25)

Team Rocket's Handiwork (1)

Team Skull Grunt (1)

Brigette (1.5)

Lysandre (2.25)

The price of each of those (for the RA) is probably between 0.5 and 1 pack. If you set up trades offering 1 pack for 1 or 2 supporters and you're patient, you may be able to obtain most of those like that.

As for the FA, I marked (in red) in the quote above the prices, going by their value in OU7C4ST's guide. The ones in this list are actually pretty affordable.

Also, I'd like to get rid of some commons, uncommons and rares. Ones that don't have good abilities, how much should I ask for. For example, 0.5 for 5 rares? Do Holo and Reverse Holo make a difference? Thanks!

You can try to trade those in bulk, but don't expect them to catch too much interest. I've never tried to trade those off, but if I were to try, I'd probably ask for low value packs in exchange, and maybe value each common at 0.1 or so.

Reverse Holo cards can catch a slightly higher price, but if they're still random cards that no one uses we're still not looking at  very big trade.

Honestly, I don't think I can give you very good advice for this point in particular. I have a hard time pricing anything that isn't already on a price list, and I don't really know how much people are willing to pay for this type of cards.

@Sakura150612 Thank you very much, that was very helpful. That's surprising that Cynthia is so expensive, I know she's used a lot but thought her RA is fairly common. If you have any advice for what overall trainer cards are essential, that would be great.

Gosh, I'm so sorry, I have been using OU7C4ST's Guide but didn't see those Trainer cards on there. I was scrolling to the bottom and seeing empty lists, I should have tried searching. Doh   I guess I don't have packs people want so will try sticking to Lost Thunder and Guardians Rising.

Yeah, someone told me that using packs rather than trading card for card is a lot more efficient. 0.1 for a common is more than I thought, I'll give it a try.

Yes, it's hard when there's no price on that guide so I'm holding on to cards like Zekrom GX SM138 and Rehsiram SM137 for now. Last question is what does it mean by the ~ symbol; I'm assuming 'less than'? Solgaleo SM104 for example.

I can afford those ones listed if anyone wants to trade  :)

No problem :)

I'll give you a quick list of staple trainers. I'm not too used to Standard (I mostly play Expanded) so I might be leaving out something I'm forgetting, but these are definitely helpful:

  • Cynthia
  • Guzma
  • Lillie
  • Ultra Ball (all accounts come with 4 already, I think)
  • Rescue Stretcher
  • Field Blower
  • Shrine of Punishment (good on any non-GX deck)
  • Nest Ball
  • Acro Bike
  • Tate & Liza
  • Choice Band
  • Sightseer (imo Cynthia>>>Sightseer, but it could be a good complement. It's a matter of preference)

If you wanted to play Expanded, I'd add to that list:

  • Professor Sycamore
  • VS Seeker
  • Battle Compressor
  • Trainer's Mail
  • Computer Search (kinda expensive, but it's the best ACE Spec available)
  • Lysandre (Guzma is probably better, but I like using a mix)
  • N
  • Float Stone

I don't currently own any of the supporters on that list, but I can probably help you getting some RA trainers if you want too. I'm kind of short on packs right now, but I can do a few staples if you need them.

Also, "~" is shorthand for "approximate". In the guide it's there to indicate that some values are very rough estimates, such as with cards like Cynthia FA.

Sorry for the late reply Sakura. Thank you, that list was very helpful and I went through and marked them. I have been playing Expanded and doing alright. Maybe we can have a match some time so you give me some tips  :P  Don't worry, I'm prepared to lose horrendously.

That's kind of you to offer. I've stocked up on packs and would like to get either the FA or Holo/Reverse Holos of the ones I've marked, if you want to take a look I have Guardians Rising and Crimson Invasion to offer at the moment or you might have some of the Pokemon I've marked as well.

Cheers, that's good to know. Approximate makes sense.
