All pokemon games should only be gen1.

Hello there, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying Pokemon Quest. Maybe I am just nostalgic but I also really enjoy first gen Pokemon. However certainly a few of the more recent Pokemon have worked their way into my heart.

  Personally I found Pokemon Quest extremely easy, it virtually played itself. As someone who's played the games for 20 odd years, since Gen1, I enjoyed them all except for Pearl/Diamond and Black/White but that's just a personal preference as I didn't really like their Pokedex's. Kanto has a special place in my heart as it does for many. I don't know the stats but it seems like the games are selling as well as ever and GameFreak still put a lot of love and care in to every entry. Limiting themselves to Gen1 and not creating any new Pokemon would get stale fast. Lucky for you they have made some new Kanto games with Quest and Let's Go.

I can't see how that would work at all. You also edited your original statement to blankness and I only got from other comments it was about Pokemon Quest. Unsure of how to truly answer.
