New Player and unable to play trainer challenge

I've been playing Pokemon TCG for about 3 days but after I played against all of the trainers once, it seems to be locked afterwards showing a tick sign beside the button. I searched online about how we can get coins from them by competing against them which allow us to get new decks and coins but that trainer challenge button wasn't open for me.

 

In this case, I find it very hard to play, I tried to get coins by playing the versus mode and do the daily challenges but since I only have 3 decks, Born of fire, crushing currents and hidden depth, It's kinda hard for me to play.

 

It would be great of someone tell me how to get trainer challenge open for me. QwQ/ Thanks a lot.

Are you in-game right now? I'll send you a friend request to see if I can help you spot the problem. 

 

EDIT: A few questions/ideas:

 

>What happens to the big green "Play" button? Is it greyed out?

 

>You should be able to select from the drop-down menu the League (there are 3 in total), the Trainer (12 per League), and your Deck (there really shouldn't be any restrictions in that regard).

 

>When you beat a trainer, the game should automatically select the next trainer of the same league as your next opponent while keeping your same deck.

My bad I wasn't online when you are since it's midnight here...

 

To answer your question, I can click on the play button just fine. After I clicked on the play button, it showed 4 buttons. Versus, events, tutorial and trainer challenge. All buttons looks green other than the trainer challenge button which looks dark green with a big (✓) beside it and it does nothing after I clicked on it. ((Just telling if it's the problem?)

 

I'm not quite sure about the second one but I did beat all of those trainers once in those 3 leagues and got some random booster packs but right after I beat them once, I cannot click on the trainer challenge button anymore. Now to think about each league got about 5 trainers when I fight it instead of 12....

This is very strange, I've never heard about Trainer Challenge becoming locked under any circumstances.

 

So to clarify, you beat each of the 12 Trainers in Gold, Platinum and City Championship, and as soon as you completed the last trainer you could no longer go to Trainer Challenge. Is that what happened?

I beat each 5 of the trainers in gold, platinum and city championship only... There were no 12 of them when I played it, and as soon as I completed the last trainer I could no longer go to trainer Challenge. That's what happened... I'm thinking of deleting and download the game again since it's so different.

 

If this happens again I guess I should move to the report centre sigh.

Lets go over this one more time. First, I'll describe what should happen. When you click on the Play icon, you get a drop-down menu with 4 options in this order:

  • Trainer Challenge
  • Versus
  • Events
  • Tutorial

When you click on Trainer Challenge, you should be prompted to a screen with a drop-down menu that allows you to choose between 3 different leagues (Gold, Platinum and City Championship in that order). Each league should contain 12 Trainers, in the following order:

Gold:

  • Zach
  • Mick
  • Calvin
  • Ali
  • Greyson
  • Juji
  • Kendall
  • Tyson
  • Penelope
  • Ella
  • Mick
  • Cammie

Platinum:

  • Zach
  • Logan
  • Juji
  • Mick
  • Calvin
  • Kendall
  • Penelope
  • Nathan
  • Brittney
  • Cammie
  • Kendall
  • Mick

City Championship:

  • Nathan
  • Juji
  • Greyson
  • Rika
  • Brittney
  • Otis
  • Cammie
  • Daniel
  • Mick
  • Rika
  • Kendall
  • Daniel

To unlock a Trainer, you must beat the one that comes immediately before it. To unlock a league, you must beat all the 12 Trainers in the previous league.



What you're seeing from what I can gather:

Upon opening Trainer Challenge for the first time, there were only 5 Trainers. You could only beat each Trainer once, and as soon as you beat the final trainer in City Championship you could no longer play Trainer Challenge; now, when you open the Play icon drop-down menu, the very first choice (Trainer Challenge) is partially greyed out and has a big check symbol () right next to it.

 

Just to be certain, we ARE talking about Trainer Challenge and not the Tutorial right? The Tutorial actually contains 5 Trainers (although it would still be strange since the Tutorial can be played again, and it doesn't have 3 leagues). On that note, have you completed the Tutorial? I can't remember now if you're even allowed to skip it, but I'm just throwing a random idea here in hopes that we might find something.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling you may be playing on a Guest Account. When you open the game, there's this thing near the bottom left-hand corner that says "New to the Pokemon TCGO?", and below it there's a green "Start" button. Did you ever press that?

no im logged with my account and not as a guest
1. i sign in with my account on browser page, did my acc
2. downloaded PTCGO
3. logged into my acc with my credential

4. played tutorial (ended)

5. played 7 or 8 games vs trainers
6. i opened some packs and then...
every time that i click arrow (or 'play') there is trainer challenge that have an green 'V' ...like if i ended all matches but it's not true..

Your only real option seems to be to send a support ticket. Mod_Alder a few posts up describes how to do it. I'm out of ideas so I don't think I'll be of any help, sadly.

i already send ticket but seems ignored...they dind t open the image that i send on my ticket and answered me back, wrong and confused...i dont know for real what to do...

I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes they take some time to give an answer, but if they already answered and that didn't help then I don't know what to do. The last thing I could think of would be to create a new account and see if it has the same problem still. If this time Trainer Challenge works properly then you could keep that account instead. Not being a staff member myself I cannot offer you a real solution, just this option as a last resort.

yeah ill create a new account....but i spent 2 days of playing....just wanna know why i get this 'bug'...just why..

I'd like to know that as well. Not so long ago I created a new account for testing purposes and found no issues, but it's a fact that at least 3 different people are facing this so it's not like just 1 person got unlucky. If this starts affecting more new players as well this might become a major issue soon. Let us know if this same thing happens in the new account; it might be of help to the other 2 people who asked about this.

 

I know that starting over sucks, specially since the tradelocked things you earn from the VS Ladder and Trainer Challenge cannot be transferred to your new account. I realize that this isn't much of a solution, but it might still be better than being stuck in an account with limited features.

i play about 2 week and just realize this issue, for the past 2 week i have consistent 11 win per day to claim those reward, it gonna drive me crazy to restart over a new account.. anyone have experience on this to help?

I'm not sure why the 2 Mods in here aren't aware, but the Trainer Challenge was recently updated from how it was before. Any new accounts starting a month or so ago has a completely updated Trainer Challenge section than older players who seem to have maintained their's.
