Difficulty upgrade

Not sure if anyone has stated this already but I noticed a pretty large jump in difficulty from pre to post maintenance. Yesterday on hard I was able to trounce every single trainer with no trouble, now this time around I'm finding myself losing quite regularly on hard mode. You get one wrong hand and its over, not complaining though, love the up in difficulty. Good going team.

I was wondering if you had any idea- (filter avoiding space yay)

 

-what the 'Dynamic' means when you're changing the difficulty?

 

Also, I completely agree it's no fun if the game is too easy.

 

 

 

I like it, this way you can actually feel accomplished when you win.

Well I never really payed attanetion to it, but-(the filter can be avoided????) yeah I guess. lt's a lot easier to lose now if you don't get your deck going fast enough. I like the challenge, but-( it makes me wish I could change my deck and put in a few of the AI's luxury balls.

I've had trouble with AI's since the pre. For example, using water against a grass type deck.

I was really quite curious about that.

 

That is quite an interesting addition. This is a cool idea, If hard is too hard then make it dynamic so it's sometimes easy and medium, brilliant.

I've been on the Hard setting since I started, and it's definitely not the case that the AI is very difficult. Especially when... well... Has anyone else seen the AI just SIT THERE instead of attacking, for no discernable reason? I actually had this happen against one of the later opponents in the Gold league for basically the whole game (have not seen this since). Never attacked, despite attaching energy and using trainer cards. I didn't have any resistance to the opponent's deck types; s/he just still didn't attack me. Sure was a very weird game. I still sometimes see the AI just... not attack at all with a specific Pokemon, still for no reason. Sometimes it'll even suddenly decide it finally wants to attack me when it evolves that Pokemon. I also sometimes see something like the AI not "understanding" one of the attacks at its disposal, so instead of using a strategically superior move it will just keep using the same move, even if it's a poor choice.

 

 

 

Anyway, it seems like if you're up against an opponent with an opposing type, the "difficulty" is really just luck-based, depending on the cards you start with. Otherwise, it seems like it's decent enough, although the Pokemon TCG game for the Game Boy had more complex AI than this seems to (though this version has been harder due to limited decks), so I hope we see improvements in the AI by the time this leaves beta.

 

 

 

Edit: I don't mean to say that the AI is easy for everyone, or that you're bad if you can't beat the AI when you don't have a type disadvantage, 'but' coming from the Game Boy game, this just isn't the same level the AI could/should be, that's what I mean.

I just joined so I haven't seen the jump but I'm pretty happy with the difficulty. Its kinda easy on the hard setting but the AI is better then it was on the GBC game witch is great!
