I think there should be a version of versus without the need to play with other people,basically a trainer challenge with versus rewards

if you are afraid on going on the ladder, dont be. the game has a built in elo matchmaking system that matches you with players of your skill level. just play enough games and it will eventually match you with people who are on same skill level as you are.

I don't know about that one. The game is supposed to be PvP focused and I think it should stay that way. I do think we could make use of better AI Trainers just so that TC isn't a boring grind for extra resources, but VS Rewards should stay PvP only. Just stick to playing Theme Decks until you get a good grasp of the game, then move on to Standard/Expanded. I can guarantee you that this will be more fun and satisfying than grinding PvE for days on end.
