Cheat Exploit With Mach Strike

Love the game, but I've noticed what seems to be an unintended exploit whereby players with Mach Strike decks are using the ability 'Ascension', followed by the use of another attack. I should have noted the players doing this, but did not know at the time. Please fix this, or clarify if this is working as intended.

Are you sure?  I've played a ton of Theme Deck battles on the VS Ladder and Events. and have never seen one of my opponents be able to "attack" twice in one turn.

Gible (the Basic) and Gabite (the Stage 1) both have an Attack called Ascension (not an Ability), which then lets them search their deck for the next evolution, putting it on that Pokémon.  Then they shuffle their deck.

If they got a good start, and you were surprised how quick they got set up, welcome to the club.  That's why so many play it.  I've found that their tendency to be over-aggressive early makes them easier to beat though.  Try forcing them to attack your Active.  Let them take a couple early prizes while you set up your Bench, and then BOOM.

Uhh... are you sure they aren't just evolving normally? Such a thing has never happened to me before.

I did not save a game log of those matches. Do you mean a recording? It is probably utilization of some script that is allowing this. Is there a way to look up previous matches?

You can check and save the game log right after a game finished, bottom left buttons.

If you don't, it's unfortunately lost.

It's easy to confuse “used ascension” with “evolved from hand then attacked”.

T1 ascension from gabite then T2 manual evolve & attack.

Did some testing, all normal.

I think that's exactly the case here.

Especially if people don't pay attention and alt-tab out during their opponents turn.

No, this was not the case. I think it is possible for people to utilize some sort of scripting code to mess with the launcher's code, but this is not the only bug that I have seen. In another match, opponent's pokemon had 170 hp, yet survived with 180 damage on it. Should have taken a screen shot. How would this be possible?

It's possible with a fighting fury belt amongst other things.

First thing first, learn how to save a game log.

Then next time you witness something strange, do save the log.

Screenshots are good for interface glitches, not for game mechanic bugs.

In the bug report section of this forum, about half the reports with logs show it wasn't a bug.

Sorry if that's rude, but no log, no credibility.

No offense, but when you are new to the game, instead of reporting everything that seems strange to you, you should focus on learning the game mechanics first, so you can understand why and how things in this game work.

Yes. There are two ways to obtain the game log:

1. During the Game: On the section where the Game Chat is, there is a tab for the Game Log. At the bottom is a button to export the log.

2. After the Game: On the summary screen, there is a button that will allow you to export the log.

Exporting the log will copy the text to your clipboard. You will then need to paste it into a program such as Notepad or TextEdit, then save the file.
