Whats with the tickets?

I am wondering why there is a ticket with a trophy on there and i want to know what it is there for and what does it do. Please let me know please.

Tickets are used to play in Events (aka tournaments).  You can get them free through Daily Challenges, or one is given every fifth day when you play the game.  Save them up!!  You have the option to buy them for $1 apiece, but it's doubtful that very many players actually do that.  It costs 4 Tickets to play in a Theme Deck tournament, or 8 Tickets in the other formats.

 

Winning events/tournaments is a good way to get "tradable" booster packs.
