Hi, i'm just now starting to try and get into the game. I attended 2 pre-releases of forbidden light and managed to pull some halfway decent cards which i would trade away to start a deck.

Now my question is: "Is there a versatile (read: not a deck that has 1 goal and 1 way of completing it) deck that is fun to play, doesn't auto lose to the big meta decks and isn't extremely pricey?". Right now, in pulls, i have about 100€ or 120$ worth of fullarts, rainbow arts, rares and GX's which i could trade away for cards to build a deck.

Solgaleo GX with metal magnezones (maybe a solgaleo prism star, and oranguru) seems like it'd be a fun deck, with Solgaleo GX's ability letting you switch around freely and it being able to one-shot pretty much everything and having steel frying pan for a nice buff. But i'm not sure if it's all that viable and whether or not there's a more interactive deck out there?

I pulled: Lucario GX (FA), Yveltal GX (RR), Eneporter (SR), D.Mane Necrozma GX, Dialga GX, Palkia GX, Xerneas GX, Volcanion prism star, 4 beast rings (1 is reverse) and a playset of Malamars. Do you guys know of any deck i could make with some of those?

What makes you think you need the great big shinies to win? I've played only for four days, and I've been cracking skulls with this build:

If that doesn't tick your tock, I've been using a psychic build as well since it doesn't really have strong opposition or the weakness to physical that the last build has:

Hopefully you find some joy in these, as they're all surprisingly versatile (even the bee build has huge comeback potential if you can get over the idea of sacrificing a mulligan or two)

Hi, I tried to get a Solgaleo-GX deck going as well.

I just started recently with this game.

My setup is far from good but it gets the job done.

(I got a Thread here if you want have a look)

I think the Rayquaza with Turbo Storm would be a great addition, can charge up Energy as well.

The problem is the time to get the setup going:

-2 Phase 2 Line with SolgaleoGX and Magnezone

-Stadion

When you reach a loaded Solgaleo he is practically Godlike.

But a lot of stuff can hurt your ramp up and it can be a slow deck.

F.ex: Lele pulling a Guzma can really shut your Magnezone down.

If Solgaleo is you favourite Pkm of all time go for it.

If not maybe you should first build a stack of more general cards which can be used in more decks than just one?

I hope this helps a bit,

Bye
