Thanks for the game!

Hi! I was scrolling through the trade page on the app, when it suddenly occured to me that I never said thanks to the developers, technicians, coders, moderators, etc... behind Pokemon TCG Online who kept the game and the forum in a good shape. Since I couldn’t search up a thread who was thanking the developers, I figured that I’ll just make one. There’s a first to everything, right?

So... Thank you for making such a great game! It revived a lot of my childhood memories, when I was collecting all the cutest cards that I can find...

This is getting too cheesy, I’m out of here. ????

While I am thankful for such a wonderful platform, I am quite disappointed with many recent changes made by the devs that are obviously problematic and not customer-friendly. In addition, with them postponing many of  the changes that we were looking foward to and removing many of the interesting aspects of the game, I seriously question their true incentives of these changes (of course, we were compensated with a ladder with a computer search and FA N, but we deserve far more than this).

What I only wish now is that they can at least keep up to their words.

Thanks for your kind words, Princess_Aurora!

We're delighted to hear you love the game and will pass your feedback directly to the developers. Many thanks to you too!

I'll pass your feedback, Sadra, as well. That's really important for us to hear your opinion as at the end the game was created for the players like you. Same time, it's not possible to accommodate all the wishes, ideas, and opinions our community has so we can't promise implementation of any change or idea but always pass it to the developers, so it was taken into consideration while planning the updates. Thank you!

Passing to the developers?  I have yet to see EVEN ONE idea or suggestion, from anyone, actually being implemented.  And being placated with a false promise just adds insult to injury.

I totally agree with robratt. I would really love to know where does your 'representative player base' come from since all the opinions and suggestions on reddit or ptcgo forums seem to contradict with 'accommodating all the wishes. ideas, and opinions' of the community.

How long have you been following this forum?

Daily, since I discovered the forum, for a couple years now.  ...Did I miss something?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking ;)

So you're saying that for all the suggestions that have been made in this forum in the last 2–3 years, none of them was implemented.

I thought there were lots of suggestions, so whatever they implement would have a good chance of having been suggested before. Not everything they implement is unwelcome. E.g. the ladder made easier to climb with win streaks?

If I was inclined, I suppose I could go back, and list dozens upon dozens of ideas or suggestions from us (the players), and show how many good recommendations are never enacted.  The closest I've seen was one from Felidae_ about a year ago, but even that wasn't exact (inspiration maybe).  It probably wouldn't be so patronizing if they didn't throw out, "We love hearing these.  It's being forwarded.  Keep being awesome." every time.  Who's fooling who?

You're right.  Some changes to the game have been welcomed, as you mentioned.  And the Moderators do a good job of keeping things clean and friendly.  To be frank though, I don't know whether this project is farmed out, or if it's done in-house, but "Development" is doing bare minimum, and somebody either needs a pay raise, or a lecture about apathy.  For all this game could be, it's a shame to see so many missed opportunities.

Hi RobRatt,

Thank you for your kind words about the work of moderators! Our main goal is to keep everything friendly on the forums and answer your questions if we can we also pass your suggestions to our development team. Everything is considered! We are sorry if some good suggestions, in your opinion, are not implemented! Still, it is not a decision that we can take! Thanks for your understanding!

What could have just happened: a staff steps in and points to a few suggestions that were implemented.

What could happen: in pointless suggestions threads, a staff says a few words about why similar suggestions are pointless, so that nobody waste time (unless they want to).

None of that happens though.

I'm thankful for the game. No problem with the game being what it is.

But it's wrong to let people believe they can help make it better and waste their time and good-will.

Also, yes, suspicious things are happening from a dev point of view. E.g. the necrozma promo-only bug.

It's also wrong to not let people know if they're experiencing human confirmation bias or RNG bugs.
