How long would it take to get through them all?

Hey, I have a question, and to clarify, no it's not a challenge, but how long do you think it would take to get through all the games or the anime?  I mean, like play all the, wither on the Virtual Console, or stock up batteries for the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance, and play all the games from Gen I to current, along with all the side games, to completion?  Or same, watch all the anime from episode one to current season, along with all of the movies, and mini-series, like Chronicles or Origins?  Basically, how long do you think it would take to complete one of the tasks?  At  least a month, I'm sure of it.  I would add Pokémon Go, or the Trading Card Game, but those only stop when the players decide to.  And like I said before, this isn't a challenge, if you are crazy enough to try to find out, nonstop at least, and you end up paying more then you think at the end, the only one to blame would be yourself.

Well Ill first address how long it would take to play all of the games. If we are talking speed runners, then not that long I have seen records of people beating pokemon red in less than 2 hours. So Im guessing someone could play all of the games in a matter of days perhaps even inside 24 hours. For the anime, Im sure if someone wanted to take the time they could count how many episodes of the anime there are and how long each episode is to come to a very accurate estimate of how long it would take to watch all of the anime.

It's an interesting idea to challenge myself to try something like that. The anime may be the easiest to actually do, but I'm not sure I could do that consecutively.  So if we're talking real-world time, and not just runtime, probably at least a few months for watching anime.

Wonder how that is possible?  I'm lucky to get past Pewter City within two hours.

For the first gen it is all about Nidoran, I want to say Female. Can't remember, but you only level that 1 Pokemon, since exp sharing on Gen 1 was horrible. He learns 1 of each element and a OHKO move for some Elite 4 Pokemon. You will beat the game before he hits 60. If he does hit 60, because you choose to farm and go slower, he will just wreck house. This strat works for all the games just change the Pokemon, better to have 1 Strong Pokemon and maybe 1 backup at most, gain most levels from trainers/gyms no catching/farming. I think Mudkip was the main Pokemon for his gen because he was the tankiest starter and could handle the starting gyms easiest before evolution.

I cant say the exact strategy, but I think its largely about playing very efficiently. Im guessing they skip every trainer fight that is unnecessary, walk out of the grass as much as possible etc. I really enjoy messing around in Gen 1 coming up with challenges for myself, like winning with just pikachu etc.

It would depend... If you do speed-runs and get backup from other accounts, you’re probably going to blast through the whole thing in a few hours.

But if you just watched Ready Player One, you’ll have that little voice in the back of your head telling you to go for the Easter Eggs, and you’ll end up running from one side of the island to the other to look for little secrets hidden here and there.

You just have to watch out for the MissingNo.

The most famous "Pokemon" back in the first generation... A lot of people initially though that it was a joke. I didn't get to find it though, as I joined Pokemon some time before Unova series landed.

I think that perhaps the idea of a speed run isn't necessarily fitting with the theme of Pokémon. When do you know when you're really finished with a Pokémon game? "Gotta catch 'em all!"
