[GAME] Rotomotor Transferring with Ninja Boy

Saw this on another forum, but they had no game log. Was able to reproduce in test deck function. Ninja boy a frost rotom(Ultra Prism 41/156 unsure if other rotoms have this bug too), with 9 or more tool cards in the discard pile, into another basic pokemon. The basic pokemon gains the benefits of Roto Motor. It also allows gx attacks to be used repeatedly by the new pokemon.

Game Log Output **removed**

Wow.

First, no one is going to check the full log. This is crazy long. To report with complete logs, send a report into the Support portal.

In addition, Ninja boy calls:

Choose 1 of your Basic Pokémon in play. Search your deck for a Basic Pokémon and switch it with that Pokémon. (Any attached cards, damage counters, Special Conditions, turns in play, and any other effects remain on the new Pokémon.) Shuffle the first Pokémon into your deck.

Roto motor Ability it's an effect in play when you have Frost Rotom active. And this is something I've learn some days ago only so still weird to me. So swap into another pokémon, keep the effect and is working as intended.

BUT, no matter what, doesn't say nothing about GX attacks and shouldn't be possible to use it more than once in a game, (unless some card in play states this possibility as an effect).

Hello Brickhouzzze,

Thank you for posting! This is a known issue.

I've removed the game log of yours, as it is too long and unuseful for the forum. It would be more appropriate, as Chasista said, to send it to the Support Team so that they can investigate it further, if necessary.

For the time being, please try the following 5 troubleshooting steps:
1. Go to the directory where the game was installed. The default directory is C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData.
2. The game stores files in the LocalLow and Roaming folders. Go into the LocalLow folder and delete the "The Pokémon Company International" folder. Go into the Roaming folder and delete the "Pokémon Trading Card Game Online" folder.
3. Empty your Recycle Bin and then restart your computer.
4. Please ensure that you also delete all previously downloaded versions of the game. Try using a different web browser to download the file again (we recommend Firefox or Google Chrome).
5. Reinstall using the latest installer available on the official page.

I've also updated the title of your topic to make more descriptive.

Hope this helps!

The effects Ninja Boy is referring to are things from attacks like "this Pokemon can't attack next turn".

The Rotoms' ability does provide an effect, but it's only provided when attacking and should certainly be removed when the ability is no longer in play.

I've just been smashed by this: 4 back-to-back Timeless GX moves costing no energy (and no turns for me in between them, as the move implies). I have the log and will send it to the support portal. Even got a video of the closing moments for posterity...

I'm inclined to agree with graywh, effects such as being unable to attack should remain in play whereas abilities on the original card should not. As for multiple GX uses, that's just broken.

The danger is that simply by posting this, there's a chance it will become more prolific before it's addressed. There's plenty of people out there looking for the next exploit to ruin it for everyone else... ("_)

It needs to be posted. I've seen rotom/ninja boy today. It needs a TEMP BAN UNTIL FIXED quickly, and we need to know why.

Any other effects... I never noticed that line, but if you think about it... It opens up some pretty insane possibilities. Rotom Motor on a Solgaleo would be very interesting, seeing that not a lot of things can survive Meteor Tempest.

It seems that as I thought, the effect shouldn't stand when Rotom is swapped so, bye to the strategy. I wanted to say "maybe" o "could be" working as intended. But it seems it's a bug burden.

Ninja boy is good though in other decks probably, to surprise opponent with the change.
