Zororak BREAK Attacking Bug

There is a bug with Zoroark BREAK. When using Foul Play to copy Alolan Ninetale's Blizzard Edge, which states you must discard 2 energy, Zoroark BREAK only need to discard one.

You discard 2, but as an effect of the attack, not a prerequisite. Because the discard isn't an actual requirement (see cards that say things like "if you don't, this attack does nothing") you don't "need" to do it, it's just a thing that happens.

If there were an effect in play that reduced darkness costs (some other types have that) you could Foul Play with no energy, and discard nothing.

Understood. Thank you both.
