Tried both Giovanni's scheme and Fighting fury belt on a few different pokemon. galvantula, Kyurem-EX, and mews replicating their attacks would only increase damage done to the active pokemon when using Giovanni's scheme and fighting fury belt.

Seriously?

During this turn, your Pokémon's attacks do 20 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

The Basic Pokémon this card is attached to gets +40 HP and its attacks do 10 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

Also note that Fighting Fury Belt only works on Basic Pokemon.

From http://support.pokemon.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=2240

Fighting Fury Belt will only add 40 HP and add 10 damage to attacks if it’s attached to a Basic Pokémon. If it’s attached to a Stage 1, Stage 2, BREAK Evolution, Restored Pokémon, or anything that isn’t a Basic Pokémon, the Pokémon won’t receive any boost from Fighting Fury Belt.

You can view the card details in our database.

The text reads: The Basic Pokémon this card is attached to gets +40 HP and its attacks do 10 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).
