About the City Championshhip

I'm pretty new and obviously not understanding how to get places in the Trainer's Challenge. I beat every trainer at least once on every left, including the City Championship level. But nothing much happened - there was no fanfare, no reward, when I beat the last trainer.

 

So I'm guessing I need to do more than just beat everybody at least once. Do I need to get each trainer to four stars or something like that?

It's not really a very celebrated event, but you're right that there is a larger reward.  For every trainer you 4-star, you get a random locked booster pack, and for every league, three.

With some decks, if you beat 12 different trainers, you also get a pack
