To Shaymin or not to Shaymin

I've almost acquired enough SS packs (39 to be exact) to trade for a Shaymin-EX, but I'm also interested in building more decks. I have two completed decks, one of which would greatly benefit from Shaymin-EX, so my question is should I try to trade my 39 SS packs for a Shaymin-EX or should I continue building decks and trading my SS packs for those other cards.

I'd say go for Shaymin. It gives you great draw in almost every kind of deck. 

But if you think they're too expensive, you could try a 2-2 Octillery line in your decks. It's way cheaper and doesn't have the 2 card prize drawback. 

I don't think Octillery is the replacement for Shaymin, but it gives you a solid draw, if you dig your deck to make sure you have an Octillery in your second turn. And that shouldn't be that hard to do, since Octillery could be searched with Level Balls and Dive Balls.

If you allready have Octillery, go for Shaymin. 

If you're sorry after the trade because you got no packs left, you could always trade the Shaymin again for the same amount of packs.

Shaymin is a great investment since the Standard Format for 2017 still includes Shaymin-EX (if you play standard). That also gives you time to try and grab another Shaymin since you would want more than one ideally. 

 

As mentioned above by SteppeRRoB you can always trade back the Shaymin, and Shaymin is only going up in value for now so you can consider it an investment haha.
