hello

i just try to help :

in your deck 15 pokemon instead of 20

15 energys instead of 20

5+5 = 10

now you  can put 3 cards to search pokemon

4 cards named "N"

and 3 cards that will search your  energys in your deck

should be better even if i cant explain it better in english

tell me if you feel the fluidity is better ;)

good luck

ps : the answer was in the question  not drawing enough pokemon and not enough energys

you dont need  20 pokemon or 20 energys

or you put pokemon that add energys to your benched pokemon  or you put cards that search energys  etc

Well, actually it's a lot to do. Starting in the game? No problem (but the budget of not having a lot of cards). If you play the Trainer's Challenge against the machine, you'll get up to 48 packs (one for every 4 stars trainer and some more for every complete league) plus one pack for every 12 won games with every Theme deck if I remember well. And some coins in addition.

Lets start with some general tips for building decks:

If you need anything to make your deck works, add enough (if you need a Muscle band, a link, a stadium or a pokémon, don't add just one, if prized you're lost).

Any tier 1 deck use to have 8-16 pokémon, 28-36 trainers, 7-14 energies (and sometimes only 4!). Trainers are the core of a deck, what makes it work fast and strong.

Only 2 types (3 if you have colourless attacks/pokémon added) use to be used. It's hard to manage more than that and also would require more space for energies, loosing space for another important things.

Your main attacker quantity/line must be consistent. Add 3 or 4 of them or a powerful line 3-3, 4-4, 4-3 sometimes... if Stage 2 /Break go for 3-3-3, 4-4-4, 4-4-3. And always consider the Rare candies, your goal is the higher stage so jumping over the middle ones use to be good and you can go for 3-1-3, 4-2-4 with one or two rare candies. Pyramid lines (3-2-1, 4-2-1, 4-3-2...) are bad because lack of consistency.

Use the right amount of support pokémon, the ones that makes your attacker better of the deck to run up. That means not 1-1 lines (if prized...) but neither 3-3-3 (too much space) 2-2 or 2-1-2 use to be enough. Also, when you have more than one evolution line it's difficult to set up everything and also do it fast. Use to be hard and slow to play so maybe you may choose which line of supporting pokémon is better.

Remember the stadiums. They help yourself while counter the opponent's. Having 4 stadiums use to make you win the territory battle but, what if not space enough? I would recommend at least 3 but if no space, play 2. Also the Spirit links will help you if you run Megas. You can't afford loosing a turn just evolving in the competitive fast game.

Pokémon drawing engines (those are support pokémon) are perfect if item locked (that awesome rotated Trevenant or Vileplume). There are two big choices, first Shaymin EX (when you play it you can draw up to having 6 cards in hand). The other one is Remoraid-Octillery (draws up to having 5 cards in your hand). Perfect for non EX decks and don't need to be water decks. It's just used as drawing support, not for attacking (Caution, Float stone/Switch is recommended for if Lysandred).

Most of the Online theme decks come from the IRL and some are good to focus on building certain decks (like Night march, Greninja BREAK, Dark decks, Fighting decks...) because you can get a lot of trainers and support pokémon from the Theme decks (Sycamore is in a lot of them), also stadiums and some interesting pokémon as Yveltal, Joltik, Aromatisse, Xerneas, Froakie-Frogadier... 500 coins in the shop it's a good business. Take a look at what they contain before to get it to go for what you need. Or maybe it's better to try to change for the exactly cards you look for; that's up to you.

Basically, the staple for any deck looks like:

3-4 Sycamore > Nothing is more powerful than a 7 cards new hand
3-4 N > 6 cards at the beginning, disrupting if you loosing or you know what your opponent will play because he/she have it in hand from the previous turn. Save you from decking out in late game.
4 Ultra Ball > Look for any pokémon
Level ball > Direct look for any up to 90HP pokémon, sometimes 1 or 2 for support pokémon
4 Vs Seeker > Choose a Supporter from your discard and put it in your hand. If you have Battle Compressor they are a great combo.
2 Lysandre > Aim to any benched pokémon and put in as active

There are a lot more like Skyla which is quite useful (sometimes one is played to look for items/stadiums), Dive balls for Water decks (look for any water pokémon), Trainers' mail (look at the 1st four card of your deck and choose a Trainer card)... and others like Max potion, Bursting balloon, Muscle band, Fighting Fury Belt, Float stone...

And you need to cut some energies, 20 it's too much.

Fastly focusing on your deck you need to rid of every single pokémon you have to keep the ones you own 2 or 3 and increase it to made it consistent. Your main attacker is Metagross so go for 4-2-4 line with 2 rare candies.

Also increase the support Bronzong to 3-3 with more PhF copies, it's the only way to make it work but then it's an Expanded deck... Get rid of Purugly line, Snorlax, Dunsparce... to make space. Those are very situational and distract you from your target to have a Metagross with one DCE hitting hard, discarding 2 energies, and the Bronzongs adding it to another Metagross on your bench which is going to became active and repeat for 160 damage every turn (as it's an expanded deck because of the PhF Bronzongs add some Muscle band for 180 damage a turn).

Try to get a more standard supporter cards like the ones from the previous list, 4 Sycamore, 4 Vs Seeker.....

As we said 7-14 energies are enough in most cases. Keeping the DCEs I would go to a maximum of 11 Metal energies. and try. If more than enough you could cut one by one playing to know what's the lower number of energies required to make it work and adding other Supporter cards in those spots.

But, now I've run into the problem where I'd get my pokemon out but more of them would have no energy and I just end up using my metagross to switch in between pokemons.....

Is there any way to help me keep adding energies to my pokemon?

Actually as maintaining the deck Expanded, you need to focus still more in your attacker and your support pokémon.

Think about the strategy: send energies to the discard to attach it with the PhF Bronzong to the benched and switch for another Metagross. That's your way to make it work as you have very high energy attacks in your pokémon so you need to attach at least 2 energies per turn with Bronzongs plus the one from your hand.

That means at least 3 Metagross to have the chance to have 2 in play, one active and one benched. A 3-1-3 Metagross line with 2 Rare candies should work better.

Also you need for sure more PhF Bronzong. A 3-3 line will make your deck run and add up to 4 energies per turn in the best scenario.

No useless pokémon like the Purugly line and the Snorlax. I would cut the Steelix EX too as to maintain the deck Non-EX and force to 6 prizes the opponent. If you feel Registeel it's useful, go for 2.

Try to get a pair of rare candies for the Metagross. Add some Level ball (2-3) to go for any Bronzor-Bronzong, Beldum and Metang you may need. Still need of 4 Vs Seeker, that's a must. If you have the 3 Bronzong no need of Energy retrieval. Battle compressor would be a huge addition to the deck. 2 or 3 Muscle bands would help to hit for 180. Trainers' mail it's a thing to try if space enough. And for sure no Tierno, it's a bad supporter.

That's the way I would do it.
