XY Basic Green - Shiftry is a PROBLEM.

Shiftry was banned recently from the Standard Format, because its strategy probably will give you the victory in 2 or 3 rounds. Ok I don't have any problem with that. I used to use him in my battles.

 

But XY Basic Green has the same problem with Shiftry, because the deck was constructed with cards which the purpose is to set Shiftry as soon as possible.

 

Everyone here knows what the attack of Shiftry does

It doesn't let you to set Pokémon on your bench, because more Pokémon you set, more damage Shiftry does.

 

Exist the possibility to ban it from the Thematic Format?

Your info's a little off there, bud. The Shiftry that got banned was from the Expanded format for ending games in just one turn, and it was a completely different Shiftry - look up the one with Giant Fan. The Leaf Draw one was just rotated out of Standard, like most cards from the first four XY sets.

 

Yeah, this Leaf Draw Shiftry's a very powerful force in the Theme format, but so is Basic Blue's Gyarados and Basic Red's Delphox. All three of the XY Basic theme decks are quite frankly overpowered in that format.

Of course Shiftry is OP, as the whole Green deck is, but you can counter it with Basic Red. Also Basic Blue is a very powerful deck making the XY Basic decks a competitive and balanced trio.

 

My objection is that other basic decks like Dark Hammer or Land Ruler are really good but clearly inferior to the 3 Basic decks.

 

So instead of banning a single card, maybe they should ban the 3 XY Basic decks from competing with the other theme decks.

That's not true. I've been in many battles where I/they get a Round 3 Delphox with 3 energies on it.

Sure. But it's far too luck-reliant for my tastes. My pokeballs fail more often than they suceed and I rarely get Delphox out. It also auto-loses to any water deck. Getting out Delphox requires far more luck than getting out a Chesnaught or Greninja.

 

Hard Charm is good but Sparkling Robe isn't. Not every deck uses statuses except lol XY Basic Blue.

 

XY Basic Green has a huge fire weakness but at least it is something no one else likes to face.
