Is BREAK still basic?

I thought that putting a BREAK card on a basic card (in this case Carbink/CarbinkBREAK - FCO 50&51) would count as an evolved Pokemon; however, the PTCGO treats the ability as locked out with a Silent Lab in play. In local TCG play, I was told by the organizer that the BREAK breaks the lockout because its no longer a basic Pokemon. I strongly suspect this question has come up before, but I didn't know where to look. Soooo... Which is right, the online game or local guidance? Thanks.

That is great news because I'll be testing my Zygarde-EX/CarbinkBreak/Octillery deck with Silent Lab at a local tournament this weekend. Too bad the PTCGO glitch won't allow me to play as I would in face to face matches so I could fine tune the trainers a bit more.
