Tesagk's Decks!

Hey all.

I wanted to make a thread for my decks so that I don't need to keep making new threads as I experiment with building decks.

The first deck I'll post is my ongoing Trevenant-BREAK deck:

At the moment, it is doing better in sustaining in longer games and in less draws to pull a basic. However, I am finding a significant number of games where I am not pulling a Phantump in the opening hand, or in subsequent hands, resulting in a very delayed Trevenant and following Trevenant-BREAK.

Thoughts?

What should I do against Darkness decks without the weakness policy? Try and disrupt them long enough for their damage to not matter?

The suggestions look good. I will try filling it out with what I have and then hunt for what I don't.

Edit:

Looks like I had everything ;)

If you can get a T1 item lock against a dark deck, they won't be able to set up as easily, and you can pick off their energy with hammers.

Yeah. Just had a game against one. Couldn't turn out a T1 lock, unfortunately. But it still fared far better in that situation than the previous iterations did.

The only problem is that big Monstrous Yveltal EX and that Yveltal non EX from XY. They would punish you for being weak to Dark, but well you can't get a deck that beats all, otherwise all will play that deck :P

May your deck reach the top :)

Yeah. The problem is right now, I get them like every other game. LOL

Though I did just pop one myself, and I'm seriously considering making a deck around it. Yveltal-EX is Niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I just entered three tournaments and got knocked out in round 1 in each. Kept drawing Wob's instead of Phantumps. =/ Aggravating. I know this new deck is better, but it's not clicking right now.

This is the fault of RNG Matcher in PVP, sometimes it gives you the opponent you are weak to continously, unless you beat them or lose to them 2-3 times. That happens to me all time !

Thats another RNG broke of PTCGO, many players complain of this that draws arent' better, but yeah - feel bad for you, we can't start a fight against the RNG :P So we will have to keep praying :( !

Hope you win the next few tournaments. (Please get shaymins man, they will make your deck much better ! )

I made a couple of changes. Curious of thoughts. I've nabbed a couple of wins and losses since the change.

Thats a good list for me to be satisfied. Just one change, try and fit in 3-4 Dimension valleys ??

Of course the losses are because of Shaymin, but if you still win that means the deck does run good :)

I'm trying to get Greninja BREAK for Wateroids.

The "Elite Gyardos" one is getting unlucky, but that doesn't mean it can't be fixed so that it relies on luck a little less.

All of those are fairly straight-forward suggestions. If I do run into any questions, I'll let you know!

Edit: Put an extra Froakie and Regice in there until I get the BREAKs.

I offered some REALLY nice trades for Greninja BREAK. I can't log in right now, but it didn't look like anyone was biting. I might need to start alternating Breakpoint and Roaring Skies packs.

I made a deck for my fiancee, and I didn't think it would do well, but I just made it with what she had. It's doing surprisingly well. Not sure if I'm just getting lucky (I've been testing it for her while she's out, it's a surprise for when she gets back) or what.

A question, why Dusclops ? To make opponent confused ? or dropping 4 damage counters ? I think too many pokemon are causing the inconsistency. I would say remove the dusclops line. Next, when you evolve Haunter, both pokemon get confused. You have any strategy to overcome that ? If you are not gonna use the ability. Since that ability would be handy !!

So here are the changes -->

-2 Duskull

-2 Dusclops

-1 Super Rod

+1 Crushing Hammer

+1 Gastly

+1 Haunter

+1 Gengar

This was a suggestion depending on the deck you want to play. But honestly that many evolutions are bound to be inconsistent !! This may even hinder you with first turn trevanant. But try this and I hope it helps a bit !

Yeah, I'm aware that having the extra pokemon will hinder the Turn-1 Trev. However, I wasn't getting T-1 Trev enough anyways, and I needed a better option than... Wob.

I was actually coming to the same conclusion as you, that dusclops really isn't very helpful. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them out later =)

Two updates:

1) I have a new deck up, "Fury". I'm enjoying how it's running, but always open to critiques.

2) Trevenant. Still not where I want it to be. Not sure what I want to do though. Whittling it down to a pure T1 Trev deck left it far too open to being screwed up by getting Wobbuffet instead. I'm still trying for the Shaymin-EX, no luck so far though.

For the fury deck, I suggest, Go MONO-Garchomp decks !! Garchomp packs enough punch and with Octillery and Rare candies its quite good. You can use Focus Bands as well.

To counter Night march and other decks, I even tried to make Garchomp/Bats. But it was too inconsistent. I tried making it better, but couldn't fit everything in one deck.

But i feel mono-garchomp decks are much better with octillery and rare candies.

I hope it helps :)

For the trevenant decks, I think you must leave it for now, since I have played against trevenants, and I almost win most of them, which don't play shaymins. Since they are not speedy and fast enough to set up. So I suggest, wait till you get 2 shaymins.

Can't think of better replacements than shaymin. If I come across something, will let you know ;)

Thanks! As a side note: what's the minimum, suggested, and max range for basic pokemon?

I've had inconsistent First Draw results with a wild range of basic pokemon.
