A TCG anime

Hey folks, here is a bit of a brain challenge, even though it probably won't seem like much.  So anyway, since we have the anime staring Ash that is starting it's 19th season, but being set up to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary, and Origins that is a mini-series based off the FRLG video games, one can't help but wonder what were to happen if the Pokemon Co. were crazy enough to do an anime based off of the TCG, what appraoch can you picture them using?  Like what world would it be based off of, this world or the one used on the GBC?  Would the cards, when brought out, would be holograms or just images just thrown in for dramatic effect?  Things like that.  What would you think it would be like?  Me, well, this question just came to me, and right now, don't really have anything to say about it.  There's a first.  Anyway, feel free to share what you might believe it might be like.

I have a feeling that, if something like that was to happen (with holograms) then the anime would be boycotted for being too much like Yu-Gi-Oh.

If they use the same approach, yeah, otherwise, if the Pokemon just appear, like say through the spirit of the duelist or something, then it might be more original.

They did do a manga version, so maybe like that. The PKMN come out of the cards. There's also short videos.

I have thought about it so many times, but it can NEVER happen, unlike Yugioh which the main characters play the cards, the Pokemon TCG has some main characters as cards, the only way they can actually pull it off, is by creating original characters which will be boring, or actually making anime versions of real life players which will be even more boring, OR making US (the heavy PTCGO Players) into anime characters which would be the best thing ever made in human history .... just throwing that out there

They did this with Gundam, making two series where kids watch the anime and use model kits in a virtual reality fighting game. It could work for Pokemon.

Here is my plot-ish:

 

What if students from the normal Pokemon world were accepted to a special Academy that did not allow Pokemon for whatever reason.  Perhaps they are deemed too distracting.  The curriculum could be so demanding that they actually don't have time at all to be good trainers.  Maybe they are the future electro engineers for the Unova region.  The future bridge builders and keepers!  Infrastructure is at stake here people!  Enter the elusive world of underground TCG battles!  These kids are elite geniuses, but when the homework is done, they take out their cards and sneak down to uncharted parts of campus to play them.  Decks are kept secretly under beds, lest they are found during inspections.  Even basic trainer cards could be deemed rare enough on this campus!  The thrills!  The chills!  The drama.  The sadness.  They could hold onto one card, say of a happy little Litwick, who had to be left home, a very best friend from childhood.  What if he evolved when the student wasn't home?!

 

Sound interesting to anyone?

Haha... that would be pretty cool... I can imagine something like that as a show
