Still at level 0 and can't play the pokemon versus reward I got

Thanks for all the help you guys had when it came to starting as a newb in the game. I am playing like crazy and getting all kinds of good cards and trying to Level up. I have read all the starter guides on the forum as well. I have also played probably around 20 games from my three custom decks I have. I win and loose matches, but under the Level 0 area, it has not leveled me up at all. Can anyone explain why? I have been unlocking coins and redeeming them for packs. I have around 3 EX pokemon that I can actually use.

Also, I have been earning the versus rewards and was very excited when I unlocked the MewEx card to add to my collection. However, when I went to my deck editor to try and add the card, it said I did not own it. It has a lock next to the 1 instead of the plain number 1. I am confused as to why I cannot play the card. Some cards I get in versus rewards I can play, however this one I cannot. I also keep getting Physic pokemon and dont get any other pokemon during my Versus rewards. I would like to get more fire and water pokemon cards.

If someone can answer my questions this would be greatly appriciated :D

Thanks for all your help.

I think I can answer some of your questions.

>Your level has to do exclusively witv the Daily Challenges. You get to choose 1 daily challenge every day. These do not expire, however, so you're free to complete it in a different day. There's a limit to how many challenges you can store so keep that in mind (the cap is 3, but at lvl 0 the cap is 1 and this cap increases every few levels).

>Your level doesn't have much impact in the game; you only get a few cosmetic rewards for leveling up (coins, sleeves and deckboxes for each of the 10 types), so have fun completing your dalies but don't take them too seriously. You do get tokens and ocasionally booster packs or holo chest for completing dalies, but the rewards for level ups are the 3 I mentioned previously.

>Your Mew EX, as well as all the other vs rewards, is tradelocked. This means that you can use it freely, but you can't trade it.

>Check to see if you didn't add more copies of a card of what you own. Your tradable cards plus your tradrlocked cards (symbolized by a lock icon) are all the cards of a type that you own. If you own cards of different foils or belonging to different sets (say, you have 2 sycamores from breakpoint and 2 from an earlier expansion) the game puts them appart, so you actually have to use 2 from each expansion as opposed to 4 from the same expansion (since you technically are using "cards you don't own").

>Mew EX can only be used in the Expanded and Unlimited formats, but not in Standard. When using the deckbuilder, make sure you select the Expanded option.

Heres something interesting for you; theres this one deck that has multiple codes for it (tradelocked), but will give you a bunch of staples. I dont have the codes on hand, but you can find them on wikia, i think they were stuff like BW-Phantom-pain  (dont remember the codes, soz), but they can help you get some trainer staples, some double white energys, and some blue+white cards

yea that deck is rally cry and trust me its not worth it. its junk. its nothing but a filler type theme. it does no good to be used in a actual vs match.

This deck actually has some very good cards in it, like Level Ball, Switch, and DCE, so it is really good if you are new and need some cards, but bad to play with.

i agree with chickenman :) this deck does provide you with some pretty good cards..

also, a modified round deck is a very easy (yet decent) starting deck for a beginner to try and test standard.. my first deck was a round+gallade deck and it ran quite well

yea ik. it give you some good items to use that you can get free. but to actually use the theme itself sucks. i tried. i lost badly with it. none of the pokemon in it are decent attackers.

I keep telling my kids "do the trainers challenges, you get cards for doing them"

code cards are cheaper than whole packs, if you don't mind spending money online, look into that. that's a big part of how I got over the ****. at this point, I can build my pack count up pretty easily by using tournaments and build whatever deck I want with trades without spending much money. I've also increased my pack count by trading non-essential cards and swapping up, trading really does help, if your smart about it.

I have been reading all your replies and I am getting more and more knowledge on the game. This is the most addicting and fun card game ever. :)  e

  • 2 weeks later...

I have been playing for 2 years and still at lvl 0.  The level  and prizes doesn't matter to me because I just earn from trades.
