[CARD] Golurk (Ancient Origins #35) - 20 damage was not done to this Pokémon when the Superpower attack was used

When I attack with Golurk (Ancient Origins 35) and select inflict 40 damage more, this pokemon not inflict 20 damage to itself.

 

I hope fix this bug soon for the benefit of my rivals. Thanks.

I'm sorry, but due to its fighting resistance and golurk's double type ability, the 20 damage is negated by resistance. Not a bug, unless it was used after opposing Hex Maniac use, in which case...

At least reading the "for the benefit of my rival" part was refreshing. It's nice to see people who don't barge in here demanding stuff like they owned the place, for a change.

 

But yes, as Jammer pointed out, this is intentional. Golruk's Dual Type ability gives him fighting type, which he's resistant to. It's a bit counter intuitive, but all recoil damage applies weakness and resiatance unless stated otherwise. The only time Golruk will ever take recoil damage is if a Hex Maniac is in play (I believe theta stop protects him from garbotoxin).

 

So you can go ahead and use the extra damage without feeling bad about your opponents.
