Lost connection in versus mode?

I was about to win, and when I went to draw my prize card it wouldn't let me click the prize so my timer was constantly running out. I waited 10 mins and nothing.

 

The bad connection symbol was on my side..so does that mean it was me? It wasn't the red X connection it was the one with the ?

 

I closed my game hoping it would let me reconnect, but nope. Didn't get any rewards and lost the steps to finish my challenge.

 

Anything I can do differently in the future?

 

I read that it gives you 5 minutes to reconnect to the game in tournament mode..is this the same for versus? So if i leave right away and reload the game will it let me reconnect to the match?

No, if you DC you lose, simple as that.

Just so you know, you missed your rewards, but the steps to to your challenges are saved every time they are updated in game. So you didn't lose any progress.

just got this. Planned my stratergy, took out a guys first pokemon with a powered up raichu, he promptly disconnected himself which caused my client to dc as well. cost me an easy win because this guys a salty guy.
