You get more consistency with malamar you can use max elixir dce for setting darkrai and attach energy to use malamar attack

That's 2 Stage 1 lines. Seems like it would take too much deck space.

He's talking about Malamar-EX.

Darkrai-EX + Malamar-EX means you don't have to evolve anything, you don't put yourself to sleep if the All-Night Party is removed from play, and you actually make the opponent deal with sleep status instead of letting him wake himself up each turn. Plus, Malamar-EX uses the same energy type as Darkrai, and can be a potent attacker if you have some luck with the coin flips.

You do have to add energy to Malamar each turn to use it, though. But some turns you won't have to because the opponent didn't wake up anyway.

here is a list of pros and cons so you yourself can decide :)

pros-

180 damage with muscle band (ko's most exs)

hypno is pretty good at stalling until you get darkrai-ex out

30 damage healed is pretty useful on darkrai-ex

resists silent lab

cons-

hypno is pretty fragile (90 hp)

darkrai-ex is completely incapacitated after hypno is removed (no backup strategy)

slow charge up- 3 energies is a lot considering the new set of exs

retreat WILL be a problem

megas will not be ohkoed- leaving you with a big problem

fighting fury belt (the extra hp means darkrai can't ohko)

not night march resistant (yes you have two yveltal xy but is it enough?)

if I was going to give some advice, i'd suggest to remove some hypnos (and maybe one all night party and add 2-2 zoroark and 1-2 float stones)

the zoroark will provide you with:

1. an alternative to all night party stadium war

2. a way to switch pokemon

3. an alternative low prize passive bench blocker (as well as a nm counter)

Oops, thought he was talking about a Stage 1 Malamar.

He never said Malamar-EX, though.

Hmm... seems interesting. I'll consider Malamar.
